A local TV show recently ran a photo of Obama with "SNIPERS WANTED" as the graphic along the bottom of his picture on screen.

What is everyone's thoughts concerning this?

If it wasn't an attempt at comedy, it will occasion a visit from the Secret Service, and rightly so.

If it was an attempt at comedy, it is comedy over the line, therefore not funny, exactly, more outrageous than funny. It will still probably get a visit from the Secret Service, which I'd find appropriate.

Any other comments?

Sure, I doubt this happened (as to Obama). I expect you are referring to the famous similar thing that happened to W.

Actually you are correct.

Your other fellow leftists were sharp enough not to bite this time.

I've posted the Bush example many times ... and nary a leftist would denounce the call for violence.

Imagine that.

It was a joke call for violence, on the old Craig Kilbourne late night show, which was a much a comedy show as anything else.

So it was clearly a poor attempt at humor, aimed at the nominee who was not yet president.

Still deserved a look by the SS.

As it was, the FCC wrote a letter of admonishment, and CBS apologized for what they claimed was 'an accident,' which was probably a lie.

I never expected you to denounce it either.

Until you and Fox News can put their demanded 10 minute hate into law, I refuse to participate. I will resist it when or if it's put into law as well.

I've already said I thought the SS ought to investigate. Any laws that were broken ought to result in prosecutions, and let the law decide. I've said it was inappropriate even as humor, but I doubt it was unlawful. If it was, then the appropriate price should be paid, upon due process of law.

I'll leave the denunciations to you, Big Brother, and Stalin's show trials. If you'll remember, the 10 minute hates were a method of controlling the people, by diverting their rage from their actual oppressors to surrogate mythical evil-doers.

Cliff's Notes?

Quickly skimmed no less.

Hardly. Read it once over 40 years ago, and misremembered 'ten' for 'two' at this late juncture.

Both start off the same, and ten is two in binary, after all.

"There are 10 kinds of people: those who know binary, and those who do not."

LOL! I taught the book for 30 years yet dearless leader swears I never read it.
It got so silly that we actually had a trivia challenge with each other.
I quickly answered his 2 questions.
I then asked him 3 questions he would only know if he actually read the book.
He missed the 1st question, ignored the other 2 questions and promptly declared himself the over-whelming winner.
I admire your stamina in verbally jousting with this clown.
I lost my patience with his dis-honesty years ago.

I imagine he'll gloat that I posted and offer this as proof of MY dis-honesty.
I'd feel sorry for him if he wasn't such a vile excuse for a human being.
Believe it or not, years ago, I actually tried to debate the issues with dub and his klan. They portrayed me as a whining KKKer,hillbilly who acted the martyr. It was an exercise in futility and had me making very un-Christian remarks. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
I even threatened to wring his blow-up doll's neck once which even had the moderates upset with me. Not my finest moment!

That ole boy could have Billy Graham and Mother Teresa calling him a piece of shit if they tried to have a discussion with him.

Again, I applaud your tenacity, sir.

Ten is not two in binary.

10 is 2 in binary.
