In AFGHANISTAN, the CIA role was more combat related, as their officers and personnel accompanied special forces teams.

Apparently, the special forces did the combat, per se, and the CIA guys provided intelligence, translation, and related services that were not combat.

However, the CIA has personnel in most countries, and we do not consider them, in their ordinary role in these countries, boots on the ground.

Consider Saudi Arabia. A key demand of OBL's was that we remove US troops stationed there. W did that early on in '02. We still have an embassy there with Marines guarding it, and as is the case almost everywhere, CIA personnel serving under diplomatic cover out of the embassy. Neither category is boots on the ground.

I would have bet money that it would be you that would keep going.

Beyond that ... you are proving that ideology blinds you to the point that you are functionally illiterate on the topic.

Pay vewwy vewwy cwose attention ... the CIA operatives were the first boots on the ground and they were there for combat reasons, the CIA were the first boots on the ground in Libya and they were there for combat reasons.

I had to revisit this nonsense ... BTW you owe me for a screen cleaning.

Let's review:

1 - You insist that CIA Operatives aren't combat troops.

2 - You insist that CIA Operatives are combat troops.

3 - You want me to believe you don't practice doublethink.

4 - You go into fits of apoplexy whenever Obama is criticized.

5 - You want me to believe are critical of Obama.

6 - You are hyper - partisan to the point that you are stunned when you see someone call out both sides.

7 - You want me to believe you aren't partisan at all.

8 - You are too brainwashed to accept the idea that someone can not agree with the (D)'s and not agree the (R)'s either.

Does that about cover it?

Why do you continue to try and use generalizations as explanation to specifics. We are not talking about CIA all over the world. We ARE talking about CIA in Libya for that specific combat mission.

You have zero citations for the latter, and poor citations for the former.

I can't help it if reporters or writers use the wrong figure of speech, out of ignorance.

So the CIA, the USMC, and Arlington National Cemetery don't meet your standards?

What would?

What's that?

Whatever the Obama regime tells you?

Imagine that.
