Possibly the best live performance ever.

I'd nominate the Oakland Coliseum performance in '72 or '73 instead as the greatest live performance of this song. The band was at full original strength, Townsend in full windmilling and jumping off the amps form, and touring behind 'Who's Next,' which was then a recent release.
The stage was at home plate, and I was at the pitcher's mound. Somehow, under a strange influence, Townsend's nose appeared to stretch out almost as far as where I was standing (???!!! LOL!). Keith Moon appeared to be turning his drumsticks into sawdust.
What was funny was how often they themselves 'fooled us again,' with I don't know how many times an announced 'final' performance of Tommy. REALLY 'final' this time, not like the last couple of times! Ironic.
