Yeah, I know.

After 11 years of 'tax cuts create jobs' and' deregulation creates jobs', the job situation is dire.

..and the GOP say 'MORE OF THE SAME'.

Yes, the same lying propaganda back in the day is recycled into an updated lie.

It is interesting just how parallel the situation really is.

Prior to the start of the Great Depression, Hoover's first Treasury Secretary, Andrew Mellon, proposed and saw enacted, numerous tax cuts, which cut the top income tax rate from 73% to 24%

These large cuts in the top marginal tax rate saw the roaring '20s' wild increase in income concentrations, with more and more of the income and wealth in the hands of the very top 1%. Not only were the non-top 1% holding far less wealth, hurting their ability to consume, but the top 1% put their money to use in a speculative frenzy bubble in financial assets.

A combination of bubble dynamics and outright stock market fraud saw this bubble burst, accounting for 2/3rds of the decline of the gdp over the next two years.

Naturally, the rich then blamed those trying to address the problem this had created as having created it in the first place. Even though it was providing the very large tax breaks that was the original cause.

We've seen this repeated in the '80s, and again in the 00's under W. WHENEVER the rich are provided a whole lot of extra money, they blow up bubbles of asset values, which appear to be creating a lot of wealth. But it is illusory, phony, and based on keeping a bubble unburst, which is impossible. When the bubbles inevitably collapse, as they must, the bill is pushed over to the non-rich, who while not benefiting much from the alleged 'wealth' creation, nonetheless have to endure unemployment, poverty, hunger, and homelessness, as the hard work of restoring the government's balance sheets is performed primarily on their backs.

What was the lie?

If you wish me to believe there was a lie ... surely you can tell me what the lie was, and what the truth was?

There are only a limited number of text areas in the cartoon. As you know, or could notice if you looked.

Every one of them is false. As you know, or could find out if you looked.

As false as they were then, they are equally or more false now.

Perhaps you could try using a specific example ... I think your internet may not use the google.

Very cute how you edited your denial that dear leader made tax cuts for the rich part of his plan.

Now ... tell the truth ... you have been for tax cuts for the rich the entire time, you now know it was Bush - Limbaugh - Cheney - Beck - Bachmann - O'Reilly - Palin - Hannity - Paul - Republicans - Reagan - The Tea Party - Perry - The US Chamber of Commerce - Fox News and talk radio that has been against it.

I didn't say anyone was rich ... but your mantra for the last decade has been that they were rich.

Now ... you seem to have changed your mind.

Why?

Why must you lie?

You demanded that a quote be presented showing that dear leader had proposed tax cuts for the rich ... before I could post it, you realized that dear leader had always been in favor of tax cuts for the rich.

Doublethink is obviously a debilitating illness that you have been afflicted with ... have you ever considered intellectual integrity as a treatment for your malady?

dear leader had always been in favor of tax cuts for the rich.

Except when he campaigned on, and proposed once in office, that the Bush tax cuts be extended only for those with incomes below $250,000, you mean?

Or is it your position that even then, he FAVORED those tax cuts, but somehow found himself forced to campaign on and propose the opposite?

LWW

My point is that when dear leader says that folks making $250K+ are millionaires and billionaires that aren't paying their fair share ... the O-cult will bleat in collective unison their agreement.

Then, when dear leader says that these same millionaires and billionaires need a tax cut, they will in collectivist unison bleat their approval without any recollection that they had previously believed otherwise.

And, FWIW, I predicted that exactly this would happen.

This regime knows what will improve the economy, but would only do any of it when a presidential election was impending. After 3 years of 8.9% to 10.1% UE the regime could pat itself on the back with 8.5% by election ... and some dolts would buy into the mirage of the success of his stupidonomic policy.

Obama has ... for a very short period ... become a tax cutter.

The sheep love it ... but they would have loved whatever he would have said.

Did he? I mean, do you have to be a millionaire before you can make 250,000 a year? If you earn 250,000 a year, does that make you a millionaire? You don't make sense.

2.
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Then, when dear leader says that <u>these same millionaires and billionaires need a tax cut,</u> </div></div>

When did he say that? The tax cuts for small businesses do not go directly into the personal bank account of the CEO, unlike the tax cuts for the rich that the GOP favours.
