Is Obama using terror threats to prop up poll #'s?

I'm not saying he is ... but I remember in 2002/3/4/5/6/7/8 the left bleating incessantly about how Bush was using the terror threats to prop up his poll numbers.

Now, those same folks appear unconcerned about the possibility of such treachery.

I wonder why?
