Since ACORN closed all their field operations back in 1Q2010, and went out in a Chapter 7 filing in Nov. 2010, what kind of credit do you bring your causes by pretending they still exist? Extra cred from morons?

C'mon, you have the boogey-man-making-machinery behind you, after all! This is the best you can do?

Next we'll be hearing about the dangers of the Soviet Union.

Oh wait, that's already occurred.

Don't you people have any shame, or is it instead your position that your 'audience' has brains of rocks and cannot tell these claims are laughably false?

Oh you poor innocent thing ... I think that you actually have been brainwashed sufficiently to believe that.

But instead of doing the decent thing and truly dismantling, Acorn is now declaring itself disbanded but in fact regrouping, with new names and the same faces.

Groups like New York Communities for Change, New England United for Justice, and Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment are suddenly popping up with leases to Acorn buildings and assets. They claim they're new and independent, but they're using the same personnel and tactics.

A visit to the Facebook pages of these groups shows their member rolls loaded with senior Acorn staff. Allied organizations, like the AFL-CIO, the SEIU, and various left-wing lawyers and politicians also are represented. One man on the New York site proudly lists his past job as Acorn organizer and his new job as "census outreach" coordinator. ...

By changing its name, the former Acorn can continue its business as usual without the legal sanctions.

But it goes against the spirit and the letter of the law. Acorn can blithely continue doing business as it always has, under the cover of darkness, with little transparency about its operations so long as the technical tool of changing the name is permitted.

This Acorn won't turn into a mighty oak, but an obnoxious weed. We don't think it should be permitted. No one would allow Bernie Madoff to set up a new business after his crimes. By the same token, Congress shouldn't let Acorn continue its same old racket.

I'm so sorry that they did this (http://www.investors.com/NewsAndAnalysis/Article/528199/201003231850/A-Weedlike-Acorn.aspx) to you.

Politics: Is scandal-hit Acorn folding? Don't bet on it. With federal cash at stake, the enterprise is morphing into new groups to keep a hand in the pot. It's like a con man who changes his name and moves to the next town.

If the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (Acorn) had any decency at all, it would pull the plug on itself and shut down.

By filing chapter 7, they did just that.

Skepticism may have been warranted as of the dateline for this piece, March of 2010. As of November 2010, however, they did what this writer called for.

Do you have reporting IN THIS YEAR to any different effect? You know, AFTER the chapter 7 filing?

ACORN was a nation-wide association of community organizers.

The individual community organizing groups remained after the association has passed. But the individual orgs are not the same as a joined up centrally controlled national org.

Where is the showing that there is still a national organization in which these local community organizers are centrally run by a national org?

Hand waving and smoke blowing aside, I mean.
