If my friends from the left missed the President's speech today, you might want to check it out. It was really a great speech, followed by questions from the press, which he handled beautifully!

No teleprompter...as usual.

Go Obama! Keep shining that light on their hypocrisy! <span style='font-size: 14pt'>Give 'em HELL Barry!</span>

Boehner, responded with the same offensive rhetoric, denials and lies. Nothing new there.

After all, the president had repeatedly chastised Congress for failing to take it up. <span style='font-size: 14pt'>However, Reid didn’t have unanimous Democratic support for the jobs bill as is,</span> and so was seeking to avoid such an embarrassing vote. He had already blocked attempt to bring the bill to a vote earlier this week.

So McConnell’s plan was to offer the president’s bill as a post-cloture <span style='font-size: 14pt'>amendment to the China currency bill.</span> And though it would not be considered a “germane” amendment, the Senate could waive this requirement under a “motion to suspend the rules,” which requires a two-thirds majority for approval. <span style='font-size: 14pt'>This motion would be the vehicle McConnell would use to force Democrats to vote on the president’s plan, which they don’t all support, at least not in its current form.</span> The motion would fail, but the bipartisan opposition to the president’s bill would be noted in the record. </div></div>

This explains the problem clearly.

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">The story Republicans in the House and Senate tell right now is that President Obama is traveling the country demanding Congress vote on his jobs bill when part of the problem is here in Washington, D.C. with his own party.

It's dead on arrival as far as Republican leadership is concerned, but it also lacks unanimous support among Democrats. And since the Senate is the one body Democrats control, that's creating a bit of dissonance. Obama says vote on the bill, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) doesn't have the votes, and, if he put it on the floor today, he'd probably lose a handful or more Democrats.

That would invite Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to reprise his oft-repeated line that the only thing bipartisan about President Obama's jobs bill is the opposition to it. And that's something Reid wants to avoid.

So while Republicans taunt Reid and his party for not doing as Obama says and passing the jobs bill "right now," Democrats are looking at ways to tweak the legislation so that it can get unanimous support from his party, and Democrats can make a case to the public that they're united behind a jobs plan Republicans are refusing to support.

"I'm happy to work with my colleagues on<u> both sides of the aisle</u> to improve this bill," Reid said on the floor Monday. "But I hope the obstructionism Republicans employed the last nine months won't continue."

<span style='font-size: 14pt'>Getting all 53 Dems on board will be a heavy lift, and a big gamble, but crucial for both the prospects for new jobs legislation and the Democratic party's message going into 2012. Most crucially, it will require changing the specific ways Obama has proposed paying for his bill -- the so-called "pay-fors."</span>

"The legislative process means that you're probably gonna have amendments and changes to proposals that are made," House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD) told reporters at his weekly Capitol briefing Tuesday. "Clearly, the pay-fors as you point out, there's some controversy with respect to suggested pay-fors."

As a reminder, the bill's primary pay-for is to ask the joint deficit Super Committee to find an additional $447 billion in savings, on top of its statutory minimum $1.2 trillion. But Obama wants to rejigger the committee's requirements to trigger a series of new taxes if the panel fails to find the additional savings on its own. And some of those taxes make particular Democrats very uncomfortable.

Senate Democratic aides say the tax enforcement mechanism is the key sticking point for the caucus, but have yet to identify which specific tax proposals would have to go, and what alternatives could be swapped in for them. <span style='font-size: 14pt'>Democrats from fossil fuel states have objected to the bill's call to end tax benefits for oil and gas companies. <span style='font-size: 20pt'>Other Democrats have expressed concern about a call to end the so-called carried interest loophole, which allows hedge fund and private equity managers to count their income as capital gains, and thus pay taxes at a significantly lower rate than most individuals.</span></span>

Irrelevant.

My guess would be that he did use a teleprompter, but the claim that "AS USUAL" he didn't use one.

If he in fact didn't, which BTW is the claimant's obligation to prove, it would certainly be most unusual.

</div></div>

Since you NEVER know what you're talking about, here are the Facts!

Mitch the bitch wanted to bring up the jobs bill, which Reid is in process of modifying in an effort to negotiate for more Dem. votes. No leader wants to introduce a Bill, until votes are counted, and the caucus has time to tweak it for votes, naturally.

Since the Senate has not yet had the time to modify the Bill, for more Dem votes, Mitch the bitch wanted to bring it up for a reason, the Bill, not ready for a vote, would fail, and he wanted to embarrass the Dems.

To get there McConnell tried a legal, but outdated maneuver to suspend the rules and force the vote, a maneuver that hasn't been done successfully since 1941.

Reid Objected, and the Parliamentarian, the Senate's umpire, overruled him, but rather than backing off, Reid forced a vote on the Parliamentarian's ruling.

The vote succeeded and the rules were changed, to outlaw McConnell's maneuver. This is known in the Senate as the Nuclear Option, a way to change the rules with a simple majority, the very same procedure that Bill Frist wanted to use to end the judicial filibuster in 2005.

Under Frist, Republicans mostly supported it, but last night, Repubs were in bitter opposition.

Reid, annoyed with the obstructionism stated that:

"We should be able to move matters through here, (in ways)that have been happening here since the beginning of this country.

Nominations, for example, we can't do that because my friend, the Republican Leader, as candid as he was, said his number one goal is to defeat President Obama, and that's what's been going on for nine months here. Lets get back to legislating as we did before the mantra around here was 'Defeat President Obama."

Give 'em hell Harry, but watch your back. Open this door, and Mitch the Bitch, will surely use the same tactic against the Dems and the President's efforts to move the country forward, which has been his goal, all along, Obstruct, and defeat the President, even if you push the country into a second dip, and throw more Americans out of work, all for your own political goals....defeat the country, as long as you think your party can get back into the W.H. and redistribute MORE money to the wealthy top one percent, and further destroy the Middle Class, the 99%, who Republicans have tried to kill off, every way they can think of.

As many times as Ed has had his BS blown away, I can't recall a single time when he ever admitted he was wrong.

Imagine being his wife!!!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif

Anyone who had watched this speech live, would have seen for themselves, there was no teleprompter used.

Just as there was no sign of using a teleprompter the last time he addressed Congress.

Nor on the two occasions when he faced down the Republican Party, once standing for over a hour, answering impromptu every single question and false charge they made, during a huge meeting about the A.HealthCareB., shooting them down left and right, and with ease, and without any teleprompter, brilliance on display.

I also recall the Republican Leadership, who could only repeat the same damn line over and over again, like parrots, at the long conference table in the White HOuse, on the same subject. The President again made mince meat out of the ignorant Repigs.

The right is exasperated over the fact that even when Bush had the telepromptor AND his notes, he still couldn't sound like anything but an idiot....."Nucular" "Deshishions" "left hand right hand, there were so many hilarious bloopers, only the comedians were crying when we finally got rid of the chimp.

We are seeing the same thing now, not one of the Republican contenders for the presidency, sounds like anything but another idiot Bush....spewing a boatload of lies and denials.

All of the silly and childish cartoons they can come up with, isn't going to change that.

You know that the right is desperate when they start bashing the president for using a teleprompter!!!

BWA HA HA HA...can't name a single president in the last decades who didn't use the telepromptor, and hence, this is all just another overreach by the disturbed right, to make a mountain our of a molehill!

The fact is, only two presidents could actualy stand and deliver, with no notes, and no teleprompter...and that was this president, and President Clinton...IIRC, Nancy had to wisper to Ronnie how to answer questions from the press, when he couldn't get away with pretending he couldn't hear anything.

Now as the left vainly uses weasel words to hide their slavish defense of dear leader, let me remind these users of weasel words that the claim being shot down was that dear leader "AS USUAL" spoke without a teleprompter.

Had the claim merely been made that he spoke that day without one, I probably would have let it pass since I honestly didn't know if he used one or not.

As is shown above, dear leader is far more likely to use one than not to ... but on occasion he has spoke without one. Those rare instances are the ones where his true stupidity shines through.

Now, I didn't watch the speech because I am so sick of this propaganda spewing puppet ... so I didn't know if he came across as a moron or not.

The only things I could be sure of was that the old media would never say so if he did ... and that if all he did was walk to the microphone and fart, charlotte would claim it to be a great speech.

Now, it is at this point quite obvious to all but the most stupid among us that dear leader most assuredly did not "AS USUAL" speak without a teleprompter.

The only question is whether or not he even spoke without one at all.

Being that the claim was made by our resident leftists, if they had a shred of intellectual honor they would have either scoured the web for a wide screen photo from that date showing no teleprompter ... or, they would have withdrawn their claim.

Oddly ... no such photo has been presented.

Fortunately, I do not sup from the party spoon of "TRUTH" and I wanted to let our resident leftists hang their own selves for a bit.

Obviously, someone from the regime has spoon fed the left the "NO TELEPROMPTER" version of "TRUTH" ... and, as I expected, it was a wordsmithed "TRUTH" that only a naive leftard would buy into.

HERE (http://tv.breitbart.com/obama-upgrades-from-teleprompters-to-giant-tv-monitor-for-news-conference/) is video of how dear leader's handlers have dealt with this issue in the past ... they will make a big to do that he spoke without a teleprompter, when the evidence shows that all that actually happened was that a big screen TV was used for the speech to be displayed on.

Trickery that the Obamatrons love to lap off of the spoon and beg for seconds.

Well, from THIS PICTURE ON THE WEBSITE OF THE REICH WING ABC NEWS: (http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2011/10/today-in-pictures-oct-6-2011/)
http://a.abcnews.go.com/images/International/ap_obama_press_conference_nt_111006_wblog.jpg

that's exactly what happened on 6 October ... except that this time they used dual TV screens.

Here's what Nancy Pelosi said this morning on This Week,

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">I don't ever remember being disappointed in the President. </div></div>

I called every single Blue Dog this week, inquiring as to their intentions of voting for the President's jobs
Bill, talking to the aides in their offices, of course, and not a single one, said they would not vote for it, even though a few, three to be exact, did say they were trying to make some minor changes, before deciding...

All of this obviously proves Ed's wishful thinking above...is totally wrong.

Nothing new there, huh?

Additionally I watched the President's entire speech, all over again.

No use of any teleprompter.

What a shame that this forum has been invaded by nincompoops.

We adults can't have grown-up conversations without the juveniles inserting their blathering baloney.

Why are you changing the subject dearheart?

Just admit that the head donkey can't speak without a teleprompter ... and that a big screen TV with the words rolling down it is the same thing.

Honesty won't be painful to you.

</div></div>Great, so we have one "sound byte" from Pelosi (known for being a liar) and then we have gayle telling us about all her phone calls (also known for her lying). I guess that is the type of "proof" lefties are willing to buy into. The rest of the "thinking" world will go ahead and just stick with reality.

The O-cultists will accept as "PROOF" whatever dear leader and the party tell them to accept.

Odd that a man who usually doesn't use a teleprompter travels with a truckload of them!
