Bush campaign's 2000 appeal to the United States Supreme Court over the Florida recount <span style='font-size: 14pt'>was "frivolous" and never should have been granted.</span>

He recalls bumping into Justice Stephen Breyer at a Christmas party and the two having a brief conversation about the Bush application to halt the recount by issuing a stay. <u>"We agreed that the application was frivolous," he writes. "To secure a stay, a litigant must show that one is necessary to prevent a legally cognizable irreparable injury. Bush's attorneys had failed to make any such showing."</u>

By a five-to-four vote, the court granted the stay. "What I still regard as a frivolous stay application kept the court extremely busy for four days," he writes. <span style='font-size: 20pt'>He adds that no justice has ever cited the opinions that provided the basis for their ruling.</span>

Indeed, the court -- unusually -- limited its decision "to the present circumstances," meaning that it did not want it to become a precedent.<span style="color: #990000">ie, a ruling just for GW.</span>

HuffPost's Mike Sacks recently interviewed the 91-year-old former justice on his views on the death penalty and the Citizens United ruling just before the memoir was published. </div></div>

Totally stolen, and now Repiglicans are legislating in all of the major electoral states, gearing up to disenfranchise more African American, Senior citizens, and poor citizens, trying to prevent them from voting.

As I always say, Politics is a dirty business, but when it comes to Repiglicans, it's always filthy dirty business.

They are Pigs. No other description defines them better.

Talking about the Supreme Court..The United States Supreme Court, on Monday, announced that they would be hearing a problem to the Stolen Valor Act. The free speech protections of the First Amendment could be dishonored by the Stolen Valor Act. If this is the suit, then the regulation, meant to shield military awards, might really be unconstitutional. Article source: Supreme Court agrees to hear arguments about Stolen Valor Act (http://www.newsytype.com/12877-stolen-valor-act/).This has been an issue for so long.Maybe sooner or later this will be getting smoothly in the court.

Interesting. IMHO, the Roberts Supreme Court will go down as the most unconstitutional in history.

Between their unconstitutional decision when they threw out Florida's decision to count votes, and appointed the worst president in our history, to their absurd notion, that a corporation is a person, to their protection of Bush's Iraq no bid contract, cronies after they kidnapped and raped an American woman...these Repiglican RW religious nutjobs, are outside reason, and have ushered in and legalized fascism,.... corporate power, in colusion with government, against the interests of the citizens at large....and against the principles of democracy, and human rights.
