<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> A former chairman for the Board of Economic Advisors has filed suit against Gov. Nikki Haley, questioning whether or not she broke ethics laws while she was serving in the state's House of Representatives.
The lawsuit was filed Thursday in Richland County on behalf of prominent GOP fundraiser John Rainey, and focuses on the then-representative Haley's job as a fundraiser for the Lexington Medical Center, and whether or not she used her position as a lawmaker for personal benefit by working as a lobbyist.
"While serving in the House, Haley exploited her public office for personal financial gain by trading on her influence and office to benefit corporations that were paying her money," the lawsuit reads, referencing immediately her role at LMC.
It also accuses Haley of failing to report a relationship with Wilbur Smith and Associates, which was lobbying lawmakers and "secretly" paying Haley, according to the lawsuit.

This cannot be true!
All charges against Republicans are from partisan Democrats making libelous false attacks.
But this suit is on behalf of a "prominent Republican fundraiser."
????
Not to worry, Gov. Haley's press flack explains it all:
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">“This bogus lawsuit is a transparent political stunt by a disgruntled Republican has-been and the chairman of the state Democratic Party," said Haley spokesman Rob Godfrey. </div></div>
So there IS a Democrat somewhere here, so thank God, we can ignore it, as certainly no Republican governor has ever lied about anything. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

“This bogus lawsuit is a transparent political stunt by a disgruntled Republican has-been"
Ever wonder how many ..disgruntled GOP-ers there iz out there?
And if they all be "has beens", what does that say about their role when they were the party elite; the party's leadership?

Clearly, we must somehow achieve better gruntlement, as these disgruntled guys will do or say anything, and we cannot trust them!

Really?
IMHO if she broke the law she should pay the price.
Oh, you might want to stop projecting in public.

As we have seen, ethics violations, like everything else that is illegal, don't count for much since.... IIARIOK....
After all, Bush, Cheney Rove and LIbby, still walk free. IIARIOK, even if the crime is treason.
Hence, if she doesn't end up being convicted, it will be another demonstration of how much damage eight years of RW appointments to benches across this country, under the criminal GW Bush, has done to our justice system....just as we saw in the Sandusky case, one of few which cronyism was tracked straight to the courtroom bench, only because there was sufficient outrage in that particularly case.

Or an indication that the charges that were made against her were baseless. (Never even considered that possibility, did you? You ASSUME any charges against any Republican must be true. But that is just a result of simple bline partisanship. No surprise.

I'd like to give Gov. Haley the benefit of the doubt, as her story is an inspiring one.
I cannot, really, because she has proven to be a most transparent liar in ridiculous fashion, and is apparently a standard kind of politician, of a sort most likely to be corrupt by my experience.

My own thoughts as well.
