Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA), the Democratic co-chair of the congressional super committee, said this morning on CNN’s State of the Union that the super committee charged with crafting a deficit reduction plan remains stuck on the Bush tax cuts:

“There is one sticking divide, and that is the issue of what I call shared sacrifice, where everybody contributes in a very challenging time for our country,” Murray told CNN’s Candy Crowley on “State of the Union.”

“That’s the Bush tax cuts, and making sure that any kind of package includes everybody coming to the table and the wealthiest of Americans, those who earn over a million dollars every year, have to share, too. And that line in the sand, we haven’t seen any Republicans willing to cross yet,” Murray said.

They are the Obama tax cuts, and it is the demokrooks who are opposing measures that would raise revenues.

The Bush tax cuts ended.

Obama copied them.

They are the Obama tax cuts.

I supported them both under Bush and Obama.

You lack the intellectual integrity to make a fair and balanced assessment.

We have the greatest wealth accumulation at the top richest on the ladder, in the history of the world, and corporate wealth and profits, breaking all historical records, year after year, with many of them paying nothing back to their country.

Half of our defense spending goes to contractors...yeah, guys like Eg, who bitch about government spending, while they are living off government spending, it's a repiglican thing.

Instead of our corporations paying what they should, their money is offshore, hidden in the Islands, with the blessings of Repiglican blank check policies under Bush, Bush Tax cuts, subsidies and loopholes.

All of the portion of GDP that used to go to education, environmental protection, Scientific studies, infrastructure, investing in our country and our people, IOW JOBS..... started to decline severely during the Reagan Administration, the onset of the skewed ideologies of nitwits and Fascists like Norquist and Friedman.

We're paying the price for Bush tax cuts, and incompetence. Bush's warring, borrowing, spending, and weakening the spirit of our country with his repulsive behavior and law breaking, while Repiglicans defended every stupid thing he did.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_RJg6PNm40

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRhDzpJV2TM&feature=related

Defense budget 700 billion dollars!!! Ridiculous. But since Repiglicans claim to be our safety net, strong on defense, another absurd assertion, they refuse to cut defense spending.... just try cutting it, and they will explode, use it for political fodder by fear mongering, and they will all line up and vote no.

This is no time for Repiglicans to refuse negotiations, standing on their failed economic ideology, making pledges to the bought and paid for lobbyists like Norquist, who refuses to say where his money comes from, though of couse, we can figure that out ourselves.....

Repiglicans create disaster, then dig in their heels, blocking any policies to plow our way out of the mess they created with their deregulatory policies, spending and borrowing until they spent us into a debt ditch.

Bush left us stuck in two wars, after he borrowed and spent for eight years, with Republicans signing off on all of it, until we were so deep in debts, loans and obligations, we couldn't see daylight. Then, before he left office, he dug the hole ten times deeper doling out money to thieves, with no strings attached.

Bush was warned about every coming disaster, from 9/11 to the economic meltdown, and Bush did NOTHING to prevent disaster!

Never in my memory, have we had a president who had so many warnings of coming epic disasters, yet so consistantly ignored them, totally failed to take any action, at all, to prevent them, or even soften the impact!

Bush couldn't even handle a hurricane!

The Repiglican corruption that forced them out a few years ago, is still going strong. Let the country fail, but don't make millionaires and billionaires have to pay what they should be paying, and don't let protections for comsumers, American workers, the environment, aid for the poor, the hungry, the elderly, in fact, the very safety of the planet, come before the massive RW corrupt bribe taking from corporate thieves and crooks, ever come to an end. Give the extremely wealthy, more, more, more, at the expense of all of the rest.

Our problems with the Middle East are a direct result of their own failed foreign and domestic policies that they left behind them from Amnesty, to the boiling middle east, and going all the way back to 1987, when REagan left a boiling festering terrorist organization which he trained and provided with weapons, in his wake.

Repiglicans under Reagan, created bin Laden, the Taliban our massive illegal alien influx, and ushered in the ideology of fascism... and we're still paying the price.

Good point, Mac. Proves my point that Repiglicans have destroyed American wealth, on every level, giving a blank check to the corporate crooks they have favored and protected, as they work in collusion to destroy regulations to protect our environment, and admit they want to do away with the Environmental Protection Agency, completely!

No Department of Education?

We'll end up with a lot of uneducated, sick people, without any help or hope, if we don't get rid of the Repiglicans.

Yes. What iz called wealth accumulation iz true enuff if u take it az being a bigger slice of the pizza.
But the pizza iz the pizza -- it karnt really be enlarged -- but it can be reduced.
CEO's are going to get a much bigger slice of a much smaller pizza pretty soon.

Gayle, what is so frustrating to everyone is that yet again the Congress's theator continues to paralize government at a time when the world economy is already on shaky ground. The latest polls put Congress's approval rating at a historic and jaw droping 9%. While Corporations and the fabulously wealthy are making record profits, are they reinvesting in thier infrastructure? no. Investing in their workforce and inovation? no. are they even taking on their fare share of the deficit? Hell no! They are sitting on a mountain of money while down below you get to swallow a trillion and change in cuts next year. 50% on the military, 50% on spending. Some of which will be social programs and services. All thanks to the rich and thier pawn politicians. America INC. needs a new Mission Statement. St.

All part of the Repiglican Fascist Neocon policies, The Shock Doctrine, is here....

President Obama has them right where he wants them, now.

They will not be able to wiggle out, blaming everyone but themselves, like they always do, for what they have done to obstruct and weaken the economic recovery.

Bravo President Obama! Sharpen up that VETO PEN!

The Bush tax cuts are on the way out! Finally!

I disagree, as to the top bracket cut extension.

He was amply on record opposing their extension (while favoring making the lower bracket cuts permanent). It's well known he was strong armed into accepting them by the GOP's strategies.
