Not content in staking her intelligence solely on the <u>"scientific fact" of creationism,</u> Professor Bachmann has shown her expertise in foreign policy and 20th century history with yet another gaffe:

Michele Bachmann told supporters in Iowa on Wednesday of her lofty plans for American diplomacy, claiming that a Bachmann presidency would mean no U.S. embassy in Iran.

Considering the recent hostility in the Iranian capital of Tehran against the British embassy, the comment might not seem particularly out of place -- <span style='font-size: 14pt'>if not for the fact that the U.S. hasn't actually had a functioning embassy in Iran since 1980.</span> </div></div>

LOL, apparently Obama made a hiccup also...<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">
President Barack Obama was only outdone by the stupidity of Michele Bachman this week, when he referred to the British Embassy in Tehran as the English Embassy.
In yet another example of American politicians being unfamiliar with their geography, President Barack Obama made an enormous foreign policy gaffe by referring to the British Embassy in Tehran as the English Embassy.

Yeah, he is a foreign policy powerhouse. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

She proves her stupidity and dishonesty every time she opens her mouth, much like The Philandering, money grubbing scam artist, The Newt, and the opposing Romney Twins, who may be schizophrenic, but they'll always have each other!

LOL, apparently Obama made a hiccup also...

I don't see any comparison. If someone called the US embassy 'the American embassy,' is that wrong?

If someone calls the British, 'the English,' is that wrong?

In what respect?

Americans are proudly oblivious to such distinctions, as when W talked about speaking 'Mexican,' and Cain asked how to say 'delicious' in 'Cuban.' England/Britain is not as far off as those gaffes.

There is a difference between when a smart person slips up and makes a mistake, and when an ignorant person repeats his or her constant pattern by making ANOTHER mistake similar to those he or she made in the past.

For better or worse, Obama does not get tarred as stupid from whatever gaffes he's made, whereas Bachmann IS indeed tarred this way, as the key thing everyone knows about her.

Her continuing gaffes play to the stereotype about her, and we do not presume she made 'a mistake' that she knows is wrong, simply a misstatement-- rather, she simply doesn't know what she's talking about, over and over again.

[quote]Obama does not get tarred as stupid from whatever gaffes he's made, whereas Bachmann IS indeed tarred this way,[quote]This is due to the dem partisanship of mainstream media.
