Wow, could Frank Mir have cared any less about breaking Nogiera's arm/shoulder?

In real time, that didn't look that bad. Just what you'd imagine was your typically very painful limb submission. On the slo-mo, however, there was that movement that you knew wasn't right.

Guy should have submitted about a second earlier, no? Tough sport.

He should have submitted much sooner. Nog is a submission specialist, probably the best heavy weight right now. He knew the outcome of a kimura and should have tapped the second he knew he was stuck but I truly believe in his mind he was not going to give in and had already accepted the fate. I love watching it but that gave me goosebumps for a while.

Well, he made that great roll move out of direct danger, taking the leverage out of the position, until Mir repositioned himself with another roll to reestablish the arm bar (? whatever that position entails, not sure?).

So maybe he thought he had another similar move in him, but ran out of time to execute?

It was crazy. Actually the entire ticket was great last night. What sort of shocked me about Mir was his lack of compassion for Nog (this is probably not the correct wording). It seemed that Mir just acted like, "whatever, another arm another day." /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

All pain-based submissions rely on the threat of finishing the move with breaking the bone or dislocating the limb.

I'm sure Mir realized that if his opponent had him in a submission posture, he'd have pushed the near-breaking or dislocation to a nearly accomplished point, until the submission was done.

In an earlier fight, the guy was being choked out, didn't submit, and just passed out to lose as it turned out in the end.

Fairly black and white in those kinds of fights. If you are being choked out and don't submit, you get choked out. If you have a limb being broken or dislocated and you don't submit, that limb gets broken or dislocated. See? Simple! Very clear, and everybody knows those rules. <s>And, break the deal, face the wheel!</s> (Sorry, that's from a Road Warrior movie.)

</div></div>Wow, you just like to argue for the sake of arguing don't you? If you are referring to the Jon Jones win, I am not even sure Machida had a chance to tap. It looked like he went under pretty quickly. I was surprised that Jon Jones just dropped him and then a few minutes later you could hear the guys in his "corner" telling him to check on Machida so the fans will start to like him more.

I guess based on your stupid question it stands for break bones and act like you don't care.

However, if you have ever actually watched the fights instead of asking stupid questions afterwards you would see that nearly all the fighters have a great respect for each other. When all is said and done they generally go hug and congratulate each other. After Mir broke Nog's arm he acted like he could care less. After Jones choked out Machida his own "corner men" had to tell him to go see how Machida was doing to try and get more fans to like him (his image is poor).

Next time you have the idea to ask a stupid question just keep it to yourself.

Quit crying like a little bitch. It's fighting. It's to be expected. I've only been watching it for about 15 years. If you had any clue you would understand this for what it is. If you can't handle it go put on your dress and play with your dolls or something.
