No mention of gay marriage in the Constitution and therefore the federal government is overstepping its authority when getting involved in the affairs of CA.

It's an equal protection issue, pertaining to the 14th amendment, I think.

That whole 'doctrine of incorporation' is over-reach by those damn power hungry, central planners on the Court and on the Left generally. The 14th Amendment was intended to apply to the freed slaves and the do-gooders have stretched to empower themselves.
