Tensions with Iran are adding at least 30 cents to a gallon of gasoline in the United States, and experts say gas prices have only just begun to rise. But the biggest factor by far, say analysts, is fear that tensions with Iran will lead to an all-out war that causes a disruption in oil supplies. ”The market right now is fairly well supplied,” said John Kingston, director of oil, at the analytics firm Platts. “You’ve just got a significant fear factor that things could get worse.” CNN/Money (http://money.cnn.com/2012/02/23/markets/Iran_gas_prices/index.htm)

Every single Republican Presidential candidate has been beating the Iran war drum. They've all said they would attack Iran over their developing nuclear program. The resultant fear and instability has led investors to continue speculating in oil commodities and is driving up the price of oil.

Think about that for a minute – Republicans drum up fear of a war with Iran. Republican Wall Street donors profit handsomely by buying and selling oil futures and the they use those same profits to donate more money to GOP candidates. Then everyone blames the President for rising oil prices. The gullible GOP base buys into this con game

The Republicans conveniently forget – that when gas prices were at $4 a gallon under President Bush…conservatives said you can’t blame a President for high oil prices…as Bill O’Reilly famously said in March of 2008:

Next time you hear a politician say he or she will bring down oil prices understand it’s complete [bull shit]. Americans want lower gas prices — cut back. Sell those SUVs. Ride a bike when you can. If every one of us bought 10 percent less gasoline, prices would fall fast. That’s what the candidates should be saying. We need a strong leader who’s honest, smart, courageous and willing to explain dubious associations. That’s what we need. - Bill O’Reilly on Fox News, March 21, 2008

Flashback: FOX News on high gas prices in 2008 (http://youtu.be/UzEnKdBAb_o)

The Cato Institute (libertarian think-tank founded by the Koch brothers) recently had this to say:

So despite the popular perception of President Obama as anti-oil, domestic oil production is increasing for the first time since the Johnson administration. Alas, little of this has to do with the president. Prices increased from $22 in 2002 to just under $100 a barrel average in 2008 and supply has responded. President Obama is no more responsible for production increases than other presidents were responsible for production declines. Unfortunately, presidents get blamed for world market changes that occur during their time in office… but generally, they do not cause them.--- It's Not Obama's Fault That Crude Oil Prices Have Increased by Peter Van Doren and Jerry Taylor (This article appeared in U.S. News & World Report on March 2, 2012.) Oct. 11 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. government posted the smallest budget deficit in five years as tax revenue reached a record and spending rose at the slowest pace in George W. Bush's presidency.

The deficit narrowed to $162.8 billion in the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, the third straight annual decline and lowest since $158 billion in 2002, the Treasury Department said today in Washington.

It was all lies of course but did Obama know that?
Did he Know about the impending financial disaster?

Obama has been the best Bush impersonator, bar none. The libs thought he had the magic wand and voted for "hope and change". I just pray they are smarter this time around and don't fall for Obama's lies.

Why don't we now find the GOP calling out Obama as 'too much like Bush!!!!'?

When in fact, their plans are to return entirely to the Bush playbook, complete with recycling his advisors (cf: Romney).

Because we really didn't try ENOUGH of tax cutting and deregulation to really find out if it works or not, so let's go back and redouble those tactics, and see if that works?

A few months ago we were talking about Obama and his out of control regulation and you lefties tried your darndest to tell us that he was running neck and neck with Bush. Now you are telling us if he were to imitate Bush he would need to deregulate? Make up your mind.

Again, you prove Obama was a Bush look alike and the magic wand of hope and change never did show up.

LOL, sorry but I am not allowing you to flip flop on this one. You don't get to pick and choose when you take their words at face value.
