New Poll Shows Tea Party Support Declining

Less than 18 months after it helped give Republicans control of the House, the tea party movement finds itself losing popular support, according to a new ABC News/ Washington Post poll (http://www.langerresearch.com/uploads/1136a6TeaParty.pdf) .

The poll found that 41 percent of Americans still identify as supporters of the low-tax, limited-government movement, down from a high of 47 percent last September. Half of those polled said that the more they hear about the tea party, the less they like it, compared to 27 percent who say that they like it more.

Much of the decline in tea party backing can be traced to younger voters, the poll found. Support has dropped among young adults from 51 percent to 31 percent since last fall.
The poll, produced by Langer Research Associates, found six in 10 Americans aren’t particularly interested in additional information about the tea Party, and 41 percent aren’t interested “at all.” Thirty-nine percent have at least some interest, but just 9 percent are very interested. Among those with interest, more than six in 10 already support it.

The poll was conducted by telephone April 5-8, among a random national sample of 1,003 adults, including landline and cell-phone-only respondents. Results have a margin of sampling error of 4 points.

</div></div>This isn't too surprising to me. Americans have very short memories and once they are satisfied they get complacent again. Also, humans are easily depicted along a bell curve and the Tea Party was an extreme group (much like the occutards) and over time they are moving to the outer quadrants. Occutards will soon follow.

LOL, it had to happen. Probably a lot of those young people are getting Health Care coverage on their parents policies, and contemplating what life will be like without birth control.

Women, and particularly young sexually active women, are waking up to The Republican War on Women.

And Republicans are still out there telling the same old lies they've been beating in the ground for two decades. All but the wealthy one percent, who are eager and ready to keep on bilking everyone else for their own benefit, and the toothless flyovers, are waking up! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Saw a poll today that 12% THINK they are in the top 1%, LMAO!

But then, we always knew they couldn't add.

Do you have other polling showing the American people like the TP as much or more than they did before?

If so, please show it.

If not, complaining about data free of alternative data is simply a knee-jerk reaction, of the sort you just accused others of having.

No doubt.

A good change, The Color Of Change organization, has put some bruises on ALEC, and ten of the big corporations are vowing to stop supporting ALEC.

That is something all Americans should be celebrate.

Republicans have not only a war on women, but a war on American workers, as well, using extremism, to lie about figures, and throwing as many people out of work as possible, they only goal, you know, is to remove the president, not the common good.

Now they're slandering the Post Office, blaming them for the the very unfair circumstances which Republicans imposed upon them, unfair demands. Are we to go back to the Pony Express?

News from Gayle, your friendly neighborhood reporter...
Watching Republicans take our country back, back to the the days of the lawless, gun-slinging wild, wild west.

Back to the Pony Express. No spending on high speed rail, but hey, maybe they can find some old coaches to take them to their private jets!

And they claim they're business friendly? Throwing people out of work, for a skewed, anti consumer, corporate friendly ideology, is being business friendly??? Even when the result is Americans with no access to a post office? Oh, that should be great for business.
