Technical question

I've been reading through a lot of the posts -- I'm new to the forum (but not the game) and am already in love. A lot of threads have players discussing positions, accompanied by what looks (in my browser) like garbage. I can only assume there's a graphic lurking in there somewhere. Am I missing a plugin?
