Looking forward to Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, Louvre and the Palace of Versailles. I am sure we will check out other stuff but that is all I can remember.

What's your impression of socialist Europe so far?

I'm interested in what you see along the lines of Euroislam. Please report back any observations you have about them, there. Thanks!

LOL! I'm shocked you remembered that! Remember, eggie, they speak French there, not Pig Latin.
Parlez vous Francais, eggie?

Tell em, eggie. If English was good enough for our Lord Jesus Christ, it's good enough for the French. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

What a major babe Maria Schneider was back then. I heard she didn't age well, however.

As far as Euroislam, I did not see anything blatant or in your face. No people dropping down to pray facing Mecca or whatever. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif To be honest we even found the French to be polite but I started out in French asking if they spoke English. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif They were polite every time.

Also it was a holiday the weekend prior (and I guess the crowds stuck around and spilled into the weekend we were there) and because we stuck primarily to the tourist sites I don't think we would have have witnessed anything anyways.

What type of things were you thinking about and maybe that will job my memory?

I love it. Very pretty countryside. It was incredible to see the neon yellow flowers. I believe someone called it rapeseed and when you see an entire field it is just gorgeous. As far as the socialist side of things I am not so excited since the taxes are so high. That was expected though so I have budgeted accordingly. One thing I did learn was that buying a ticket for the Eurostar is a lot like buying a plane ticket. If you buy the ticket the day you want to leave expect to pay considerably higher prices.

My next weekend trip (two weeks) will either be to Scotland or Rome. Lots to see. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Obviously, you are over paid! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif Yes, Europe can be expensive. Especially in the big cities.

Rome is a city, Scotland is a country. Both have a lot to offer.

Something you won't see in Florida.

Both pictures are amazing and I definitely would never see anything like that in Florida. I am taking some of my fellow US coworkers to see the Arundel Castle tomorrow, it is up on a hill also. Absolutely gorgeous and happy that I am able to go and see everything I want while I am here.

I guess I could thank Dave Ramsey for some of this eventhough he probably would not have approved of the 250 Euro trip to Paris this weekend. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif I have been saving for 3 months to make sure there is nothing on this trip I cannot do because of cost reasons. Nothing is guaranteed in life so I may never come back and I want to see as much as possible while I am here. Next year I want to go to New Zealand and Australia but I am guessing I won't be able to piggyback a vacation on a business trip. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Dont forget to corner a French Maid.
As you said you may never come back.
What happens in France. Stays in France. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Will Smith just found out that the tax rate on income is 75%.

What did Will decide to do? 75% isn't bad since the healthcare is "free". /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

He almost fell over when the French journalist told him the number.
He responded by saying "God Bless America".
Will Smith could never have achieved what he has in France.

Just goes to show that taxes are fine as long as they impact somebody else's wallet.
