Former Bain Executive: Romney To Blame For Layoffs

Mitt Romney is being blamed for layoffs at Ampad, an Indiana paper company.

…former managing director of Bain Capital Marc Wolpow, [says] Romney was directly responsible for Ampad’s layoffs. Wopow and a fellow Bain partner sat on the board of directors of Ampad, and were responsible with carrying out the Bain business plan that caused the layoffs.

“My job was to maximize the profits to Bain Capital’s partners from the Ampad transaction,” Wolpow told the Globe in 2002.

Wolpow said Romney was responsible for the business plan carried out by Bain in Indiana<span style='font-size: 20pt'>.”Mitt’s employees executed that transaction,” he said. “We carried out the business plan. He was CEO of the firm.”

”I reported directly to Mitt Romney … You can’t be CEO of Bain Capital and say, `I really don’t know what my guys were doing.”

Wolpow said that to maximize profits, Bain “implemented an aggressive plant closing and cost-cutting program.”</span>

Do you have to jump into every single one of my threads, and try to divert the subject over to another one of your personal attacks?

The subject of the thread is Romney is it not?
Nothing to do with 'Democrats in Florida', whatever that means?

Bain and Romney have no idea if they created any jobs, they never kept count because they didn't give a FK. That wasn't their priority.

Yep, and he's not gooing to be able to run on his job performance as Governor, either.

What a crock he is. Forty-seventh in the country in Job performance as Governor, and a Job destroyer, of the worst kind, in the private sector.

A Morman animal abuser, who assaults those he deems as the weak, and he walks exactly like a woman. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif Ever noticed his walk?

Obama made that same point.

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">President Obama, speaking at the NATO Summit in Chicago on Monday, questioned whether Mitt Romney's business experience at Bain Capital made him fit to be president in some of the most stark terms to date. </div></div>

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> <span style="color: #3333FF">"I think it's important to recognize that this issue is not a, quote, distraction -- this is part of the debate that we're going to be having in this election campaign about how do we create an economy that everybody, top to bottom, folks on Wall Street and folks on Main Street, have a chance at success."</span>

Obama then took on Romney directly. <span style='font-size: 20pt'>"<u>You know, he's not going out there touting his experience in Massachusetts.</u></span> He's saying, I'm a business guy and I know how to fix it, and this is his business," he said. "When you're president, as opposed to the head of a private equity firm, your job is not simply to maximize profits," he said.</div></div>

Romney made a lot of money but he did it at the expense of others. He made money by putting people OUT of work and not creating jobs.

The issue is about people like Mitt Greedy Romney, who belongs to that top one percent, who are corrupt in their hearts.

Do you think they would even consider making eighty billion in profits, instead of one hundred billion in profits, in order to put aside enough money for those lifetime employees, (some of them even in their sixties, just months from retirement, who have given their working lifetimes to a company) their same retirement and health coverage. These venture capitalists are pigs. That's what they are. And how many of them are receiving corporate welface from our tax dollars, which Grover Norquist refuses to consider in his BS no raising taxes, destructive, annd deficit increasing policy.

You yap about the Free Market, yet you refuse to take even a brief look at the greed and corruption that exists in it. Is that what you think a Free Market is? Corporate rights to steal?

Regulations on the financial industry, and corporate greed and corruption, are necessary, otherwise, the Greedy top one percent, will starve everyone else, and never look back. In fact, that is precisely what they hahve done.

That is NOT Free Market Enterprise, that is a shadow, corrupt, market that will gladly bring down the whole country, if they can get their greedy hands on another billion dollars, and screw the American Workers, who helped put them where they are in the first place.

It's very simple. A law that states that when a company is bought out, the buyer is still responsible for paying those employee benefits in place at the time of the buy out, which the employees have already paid for and worked for all along.

No more dumping American workers, for the sake of GREED!

PIGS!

Romney, was one of the PIGS!

Still is!

So is the Bush family! AND Reagan.

Most of us with half a brain can see what the Bain MO was.

ie, extract as much profit from the aquisition before it went bankrupt. Raid the pension fund. Raid the HC fund. Fire 1000,s of people.

Walk away with a huge profit and FK the workers.

Precisely!

Well written!

Wish I could be as succinct as you and Sofla.

Got to work on that!
