Obama is a Muslim: as per a recent Gallup poll released this Friday 18 percent of Republicans and 11 percent overall of Americans believe that President Barack Obama is a Muslim in spite of the fact his is a Christian.

Obama is a socialist: This myth began in 2008 during a campaign stop in Ohio where then Senator Obama was caught on tape telling “Joe the Plumber”, Joe Wurzelbacher, that America needs to “spread the wealth around.” His opponent, Senator John McCain pounced on the opportunity, noting that “sounded a lot like socialism” which has remained a rallying call for conservatives ever since then. Far from “completely socializing the American economy,” Obama has shown, repeatedly, and to the consternation of liberals, that he doesn’t want to socialize any of the economy if he can avoid it. His banking plan bends over backward to buy up toxic assets while avoiding buying up whole banks. He wants to use competition to universalize healthcare. Even when vital industries have nowhere else to turn, the administration really doesn’t want to crowd out private capital.

Obama is a Wall Street pawn: while it is true that Obama bailed out the banks, the in fact did stabilize and most of the TARP money has already been repaid. Additionally, Obama has fought for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau against strong Republican opposition and has actively promoted and campaigned on the Buffett Rule along with backing a 5% surcharge tax on millionaires. In his reelection campaign, Obama has depended less on Wall Street contributors that past Democratic and Republican nominees.

Obama is not an effective public speaker: critics accuse Obama of relying heavily on teleprompters, but the fact is he often speaks off the cuff when making speeches and his agility with handling questions from reporters is well known.

Obama’s stimulus plan was a failure: a key talking point by the GOP and Tea Partiers, however last August, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimated that the stimulus package created between 1.4 and 4 million jobs. Even Mark Zandi, one of McCain’s economic advisers in 2008, has called the stimulus “a significant benefit to the economy’s performance.”

Obama is a weak leader: another GOP myth, yet Obama’s commitment to the Affordable Care Act, his position on the auto industry bailout and his unprecedented attack on Osama bin Laden’s compound behind foreign borders with no prior consultation beg to differ. His positions on gay marriage, gays in the military, women’s reproductive healthcare services and immigration offer further proof of his strength of leadership. It has been said by senior officials who have worked for both Obama and Clinton that in a crisis Clinton was more creative, but Obama is more decisive and bold.

Obama was not born in the United States: do I really have to comment on this one?

http://samuel-warde.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Obama-Certificate-of-Live-Birth-300x253.jpg

Obama has raised taxes on everyone: President Obama has not raised taxes. We have the same tax rates now that we had when Bush implemented the ‘Bush tax cuts’ while he was in office. In fact, one of the first things that Obama did when he took office was further cut the taxes of 95% of the working families in the United States. He has also signed 18 tax-cuts for small businesses.

Obama wants to take people’s 2nd Amendment right to bear arms: Obama has largely ignored the issue since taking office, and when he has spoken about gun control, his rhetoric on the issue has been noticeably conciliatory, with a focus on improving the enforcement of existing laws.

Obama is doing nothing while Iran acquires a nuclear arsenal: oft repeated by conservatives, this position ignores the fact that Obama has built a significant international coalition against Iran to include the imposition of harsh international economic sanctions and has taken containment off the table of options, meaning that either Iran gives up its aspirations to acquire nuclear arms or the United States will unquestionably use preventative military force to destroy those capabilities.

Obama has been on a wild spending spree since taking office: according to the Office of Management and Budget and the CBO, President Obama has been the furthest away from a spending spree than any other President in years

Obama has engaged in a policy of appeasement: ask Osama bin Laden.

Obama can’t win: <span style="color: #CC0000">one word – BULLSHIT ! </span>

False flag argument. The POTUS doesn't have the power to raise taxes, but his party has raised taxes in several areas.

That isn't the worst cause of the deficit however, as the worst problem is that the regime's fascist economic policy has crushed the tax base.

False. The POTUS lacks the power of the purse.

Congress controls te purse, and from 2007 through 2011spending increased by $874,375,000,000 ... or 32%. During the same period, revenue shrank by $99,386,000,000.

If there are enough Liberals who go out and vote, the president will win.

We need to disenfranchise the ignorant from the right. Now how can we fix things so that they can't vote? Maybe it is time to use the REpiglican methods for throwing elections?

As we well know, the right will only continue to spread lies about thhe president, while denying everything that Bush and their own Repiglican Party did which destroyed the economy.

But, we have proof, that their denials are BULL****! In fact, we have undeniable proof, from the CBO!

C.B.O.’s Take on the Stimulus
By DAVID FIRESTONE

http://takingnote.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/06/08/c-b-o-s-take-on-the-stimulus/?src=recg

A certain ritual plays out whenever the director of the Congressional Budget Office testifies before a House or Senate committee. While partisans from each side try to score ideological points about spending or taxes, he has to remain studiously neutral, sticking to the numbers and inevitably frustrating his questioners.

On Wednesday, however, Douglas Elmendorf, the current director, annoyed Republicans on the House Budget Committee a little more than usual when they made several unsuccessful attempts to get him to say that President Obama’s stimulus program was a failure.

First, Bill Flores, Republican of Texas, asked him which was more effective at increasing economic activity, private- or public-sector spending. The congressman clearly wanted the answer to be private-sector, but Mr. Elmendorf wouldn’t help him, saying both would be equally effective. Mr. Flores pushed on anyway, asking why a second stimulus would be any more effective than the first one.

<span style='font-size: 20pt'>“But Congressman,” Mr. Elmendorf replied, “as you understand –and I recognize you don’t agree with us – but our position is that the recovery act was not a failed program. Our position is that it created higher output and employment than would have occurred without it.”

To which the congressman could only respond, rather sarcastically, “Thank you, that was fascinating.”</span>

<span style='font-size: 20pt'>A few minutes later, Tim Huelskamp, a freshman Republican from Kansas, made the often-stated point that the stimulus didn’t bring the jobless rate down as low as the Obama administration predicted it would, and demanded to know how that could have happened.

Mr. Elmendorf explained that the recession turned out to be far deeper than anyone had anticipated, but said a University of Chicago survey of distinguished economists showed that 80 percent of them believed the stimulus was good for the economy.</span>

<span style='font-size: 20pt'>“Because of the recovery act, the unemployment rate was lower at the end of 2010 than it would have been without the stimulus bill,” he said. In fact, he said, it saved or created more than 3 million jobs.</span>

<span style='font-size: 20pt'>Republicans quickly changed the subject. To them, the Recovery Act will always be the “failed stimulus program,” and they’d rather not hear any information to the contrary. Particularly from someone who knows what he’s talking about.</span>

Proof that the right rejects facts. It's a way of life for them.

The CBO said it was. UE is up. The deficit exploded. Anyone who believes the stimulus was a success is IMHO a fool.

Then you should never cite the CBO ever again, as it has stated very clearly what the successes of the stimulus were (within ranges).

The deficit did not explode. It went up from CBO's projected $1.2 trillion for FY'09 to $1.4 trillion (approx.), or about 16%. You cling to the phony understated deficit of the prior fiscal year for dear life, and again, ignore what CBO said well before Obama took office about that then-current fiscal year.

Either you cannot understand this because of intellectual impairment, or you willingly lie about this constantly out of partisanship. (I make that a 50-50 possibility.)

His party suffered the worst mid term beat down in ver a century.

That may be technically true, but there were plenty of other mid-term beatdowns-- Clinton's Democratic Party in '94 lost not just the House, but the Senate as well. Reagan had a miserable mid-term first time around as to the House, and then lost the Senate in his other mid-term.

Why does this happen? Because when the president of a party gets voted in, he carries in marginal House candidates with him on the coattails. When the next election doesn't involve the president on the ticket, that coattail effect vanishes, and those marginal now incumbants revert to trend in that district, which doesn't favor them.

This is a silly distinction you draw. And a misleading one.

As president, Bush had his SecTreasury put together the proposal, and got it rammed through Congress on his originally stated terms, in an emergency situation that allowed for almost no Congressional hearings, discussion or debate.

Through Paulson, Bush told Congress that the entire financial system was hanging by a thread, and that the bailout had to be accomplished ASAP or else we faced imminent collapse. Congress did pass it, but it was all Bush's initiative and push that made it happen.

Obama’s stimulus plan was a failure: </div></div>

The CBO said it was. UE is up. The deficit exploded. Anyone who believes the stimulus was a success is IMHO a fool. </div></div>

You have an honest opinion??? Since when?

Obama is a weak leader: </div></div>

His party suffered the worst mid term beat down in ver a century.

Prominent dems refuse to attend the 2012 convention.

Every candidate he has campaigned for has lost.

No dem that I know of wants his endorsement.

But ... you will believe whatever the regime tells you to believe. </div></div>

Explain to me how this is different from you reverently parroting Limberger, Hannity and the right wing blogs?

Obama was not born in the United States: </div></div>

He probably was, but his refusal to open the birth records is what has maintained this issue.

Being that his literary agent advertised him as a Kenyan immigrant points strongly to the possibility that he claimed to be a non citizen for student aid ... but, like a good cultist, you will believe each and every vacation of "TRUTH"as dear leader commands. </div></div>

Good old Larry Wilson. Your refusal to give up the birther nonsense betrays your intellectuaL PRETENSIONS. Sad but amusing. Oh, dear!

Obama has raised taxes on everyone: </div></div>

False flag argument. The POTUS doesn't have the power to raise taxes, but his party has raised taxes in several areas.

That isn't the worst cause of the deficit however, as the worst problem is that the regime's fascist economic policy has crushed the tax base. </div></div>

False flag? Fats wasn't the one who made that claim. Nice to see that you do recognize how ridiculous that accusation was.
Still hope for you, I guess.

Obama wants to take people’s 2nd Amendment right to bear arms: </div></div>

Sarah Brady is on record quoting Obama as saying he had a program "uner the radar" to do exactly that. Shortly thereafter we learned about fast and furious ... but, being a god bot, you ignore inconvenient truths. </div></div>

LOL! Spin on, Chicken Little. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Obama is doing nothing while Iran acquires a nuclear arsenal: </div></div>

Untrue.

By claiming Iran to not be a threat, he has done worse than nothing. </div></div>

mitt will fix that, by God!

Obama has been on a wild spending spree since taking office: </div></div>

False. The POTUS lacks the power of the purse.

Congress controls te purse, and from 2007 through 2011spending increased by $874,375,000,000 ... or 32%. During the same period, revenue shrank by $99,386,000,000.

My source? The Obama regime.

They didn't put that on the spoon or you, did they? </div></div>

Nice to see you debunk Tea Party accusations. Keep up the good work.

Obama can’t win: <span style="color: #CC0000">one word – BULLSHIT ! </span> </div></div>

Get back with me in November. </div></div>

He can win, but he might not. The special interest groups have unlimited funds to support their criminal activities. And Mitt is their man.

You have slain many of the wingnut myths. I'm rather proud of you.
