GOP Senator Blasts Obama For Talking ‘Incessantly’ About The Middle Class

President Obama’s plan to allow the Bush tax cuts for incomes above $250,000 to expire at the end of the year has revived the Republican talking point that he is waging “class warfare” against the wealthy, a point Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl (R) drove home in an entirely new fashion today.

Speaking on the Senate floor, Kyl claimed that the president’s usage of the phrase “middle class” is “misguided and wrong and even dangerous.” Calling for an end to rhetoric about classes, Kyl blasted Obama for “incessantly” talking about class, “particularly the middle class”:

KYL: Most prominently, we have a president who talks incessantly about class, particularly the middle class. Maybe you’ve noticed that. He defines class strictly by your income. In the president’s narrative, someone who makes $199,000 a year is a member of one class and someone who makes $200,000 belongs to another class. Does that make sense? Indeed, each day the president’s out on the campaign trail championing himself as the great protector of what he calls the middle class and pitting these Americans against their fellow citizens by arguing that the wealthiest class is victimizing them through the tax code.

Watch it: VIDEO (http://youtu.be/y-P1L7d943w)

Kyl went on to explain that America doesn’t have “a true class-based society,” since we don’t have an “ingrained class system” or “noble bloodlines,” a point that seems to ignore every common usage of the “middle class” in our political system.

As ThinkProgress has repeatedly noted, the president’s plan to end the tax cuts that benefit only the wealthiest Americans doesn’t amount to class warfare — in fact, it still maintains a sizable tax cut (http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2012/07/10/513726/obama-rich-tax-cut-too/) for them too. And while Kyl claims “class is a loaded term that’s not appropriate for our debates about income,” the talk about who pays their fair share is a hot topic for the GOP too. Republicans have pushed the false notion that 47 percent of Americans don’t pay federal taxes (http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2011/07/07/262890/hatch-poor-people-contribute-taxes/) to make it seem that it is actually the poor and middle class who aren’t paying enough (http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2011/07/25/278175/taxing-the-poor-republicans-support/) in taxes, and Republicans consistently opposed an extension (http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2011/12/08/385468/breaking-gop-filibusters-middle-class-tax-cut-again/) to the payroll tax cut, which primarily benefited middle class workers.

The House GOP budget, meanwhile, gutted the social safety net, taking 62 percent (http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2012/03/23/451050/ryan-budget-low-income-cuts/) of its cuts from programs that benefit the middle and lower classes. And while the GOP maintains the idea that reducing the debt and the tax burden on the wealthy will help middle-income Americans, the last decade has proven that to be utterly false. Republicans promised prosperity and job growth when they passed the high-income Bush tax cuts in 2003; what followed was a decade of rising deficits, anemic job growth (http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2011/06/07/238731/graphs-bush-tax-cuts-legacy/) , and a massive recession that decimated middle- and lower-class families and programs that benefit them (http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2011/06/07/237560/10-years-bush-tax-cuts/) .

What makes you think I give a sweet rat's azz what you think? You are nothing but a festering slimy bag of drool, an abominably uncivilized menace, and a vacuous, cantankerously caterwauling plague of sighing and ignorance.

Do you speak any language that non-gibbering, non-drooling idiots can understand?

Dude, you spend way too much time in darkened rooms in front of your old computer, this has rendered you a whiter shade of pale, in fact, your skin color is like that of a vampire. Go outside once in a while, breathe in some fresh air, and get some sun, so that your brain doesn't completely rot from all that festering stagnation and cognitive dysfunction.

If brains were gas, you wouldn't have enough to drive an ant's go-kart around the inside of a bottle cap. It's great that you set aside this special time to humiliate yourself here. But I suggest you heed Mark Twain's advice; "It is better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt."

When personalities were handed out, you must have been holding the door. You're so miserable, that you could never hold on to a mate, hell.. even a boomerang wouldn't come back to you. I'd rather run my nostrils down a cactus, than read another contribution from you (it would be much more pleasant). Perhaps you wouldn't be such a Jerk-In-The-Box if you weren't intellectually outclassed by road kill; or if you didn't have a face that would give Freddie Kruger nightmares. But nah, come to think of it, you would.

Any-who, I'm not really good with fools, but a buddy of mine who is good with fools wrote something down for me. Oh, yeah, "Shut your cake-hole, stupid!"

Yeah right! What you have is a class based on wealth and non-wealth.

Try walking into Mitt's country club and asking if you can have a look around because you are thinking of becoming a member!

25% of the working pop are earning 10$ or less.
In the last 20 years, only the top 10% increased their wealth.
The bottom 90% lost out and Mitt's plan is to give the super wealthy even more money!

Its a huge con to install on uber class to rule the country.
