We can stop badgering Mitt Romney to release more of his tax returns. It turns out he paid taxes — a lot of them — every year. So that's settled. Let's move on.

Of course, Romney's word might not be enough for some.

At a campaign event in Las Vegas, the Republican candidate once again responded to Harry Reid's claim that Romney is hiding something by not divulging his complete tax records.

Let me also say categorically: I have paid taxes every year. A lot of taxes. A lot of taxes.

So many taxes that he had to say "a lot" twice. I mean, that's definitely a whole bunch.

On the other hand, Romney's idea of "a lot of taxes" might not match yours. In 2010, he paid 13.9 percent on wages from capital gains and investments. That's "a lot" less than the top tax rate of 35 percent. </div></div>

So, NOW its up to Mitt to prove it.

I'd love to hear Harry say, "NO, you put up or shut up, you're the one running for president!"

He is already caught with his pants down. Actually Harry got up there and lied. Mitt did all he needed to which was say Reid was lying. If Harry cannot prove his source and data then Mitt has no reason to prove them wrong.

1. You have no proof that Harry Reid lied.

2. Mitt has NOT done all he needed, as even many Republicans continue asking him to release the information, as they have been all along.

3. Mitt is the one with his pants down, since he is the one who is going to pay the price for failing to release information which is standard for presidential contenders.

4. Mitt is proving what a crook he is by proving he can't reveal his taxes because he is a crook, and will surely loose if people find out everything about the his taxes.

5. Most Americans know Mitt is just like the other corporate welfare pigs who are advantaging all of the "wealthy favorable" loopholes, and generally unfair tax policies of Repiglicans.

6. Americans already don't like Mitt Romney, partly because tey know that both he and his wife are animal abusers and liars.

7. Most Americans understand that Romney's refusal to reveal his taxes are part of his efforts to hide the fact that he has all along been a forerunner in outsourcing Americans jobs, so he can hide his profits offshore, yet he plans to raise taxes on the Middle Class to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy, just like the Bush cabal did.

8. If he gets in there through the Republican planned voter disenfranchisement campaign plans, there will be massive outrage throughout this country.

9. MOST Americans, at least those smart enough to know anything about economics, know that 'Trickle Down' as an economoic policy does not work, and that Repiglicans have blocked our recovery by being the party of NO, refusing to compromise during emergency circumstances, created further economic losses, and blocked our recovery.

10. Romney has proven that the Repiglican Party is the party of racists. His statements about Algo-Saxon supposed supreme economic abilities proves that once and for all.

No more can we say 'the extremist RW' when there is a domestic terrorist attack based on racism, or 'ignorant RW religious denials of widely spread accepted science' or 'RW misogyny' or 'RW Homophobia' because those attitudes have been proven to be the attitudes of the entire Repiglican Party, including Mitt Romney!

There is less reason to think Reid lied than to think that he's telling the truth, IMO.

However, he could be telling the truth (that he got that phone call, it was from a highly credible source known to him, etc.), and the claim in chief could still be false-- with either the caller mistaken, or the caller himself lying about the claim (neither of which Reid would know).

Who WOULD know, other than Mitt and the IRS? Possibly the LDS, and this could be from a church insider in a position to know, who spoke to the nation's highest ranking official who is also in the LDS. Former candidate Huntsman's father, for one.

Your comment, "Who WOULD know," proves the point exactly. Reid is a little man with no backbone. He played dirty politics and you are fine with it since he is a (D).

It is not up to Mitt to respond to guesses. As for you other bullets, blah blah blah. We have heard your rants for years.

Absolutely! Reid is no dummie.

I seriously doubt that he would go out on this limb, without some pretty compelling proof.

I believe Reid is waiting to reveal more at a later date, closer to the election. The September surprise, maybe?
