The department says paramedics are evaluating eight people but some of them may not have been shot.

Aliyah Imam tells Fox 5 News that she was standing at a red light when a woman standing next to her fell to the ground. She says the woman was hit in the hip. She says the gunman was "shooting indiscriminately at people."

Update: Apparently the shooter had been fired some time ago. Also, there were far more people hurt than was first reported, many of them trampled in the panic.

More were shot than orignially stated. Atleast one person was killed.

Shooter was 53 year old Jeffery Johnson, was fired by this import company a year ago, and returned today to shoot his boss.
Two Women and seven men were shot. Nine of the injured are in hospitals.

What a horrible tragedy.

There are multiple crime scenes, so apparently the shooter was on the move as he randomly shot at passersby, and shot at the police, who killed him.

So sad and pointless.

Mayor Bloomberg has let on that some of those shot were shot by police.

Understandable, perhaps, but it shows the dangers of 'everybody get out their concealed carry and take down a shooter.'

If trained policemen in broad daylight end up shooting innocent bystanders, isn't it obvious what would most likely occur in a darkened theater with smoke devices?

In the Gabby Giffords shooting case, a CCW licensee almost shot one of the good guys who'd stopped Loughner, because he had the perp's gun. That man has said he had about a couple of seconds to decide, and apparently had military training to help him make a life and death decision and not have it go horribly wrong.
