Do any of my Liberal friends notice the fact that RWers do not get this basic principle of implementing critical thinking skills.

From Romney, to the irrational accusations posted on this forum regarding the recent developments in the Middle East, and around our Embassy locations, fail completely to apply that simple principle.

I notice this over and over, and wonder if it is just a result of intentional spin by the right, or if it is a way of life for them, a result of pure ignorance.

The Arab Spring, has been about people struggling to enjoy the same principles of a peaceful Democracy, and a say in their lives, which we enjoy here, through our votes, and they wish to work to achieve their efforts toward breaking free of their dictators.

These times call for support by our country, if we are ever to see more peaceful regions around the world. We can't do it for them, but our mission is to support their struggle in whatever ways we can, without being involved in a war.

That is what we done, and done very carefully, and IMO as successfully as possible.

And as is usually the case, there is a temporary void of leadership while a country is making that struggle, and obsticles to overcome, just a we face here in our own country....a struggle in the initial fledging attempts at successful leadership, as those who seek peace, snd those who are leading that process, are trying to grow their way into trust and approval and majority support.

Unfortunitely, it is also a time when the bad players make an attempt to destroy the possibilites for freedom.

That is what we are seeing now. This is no time for bloviating! This is no time to tout ur power, nor to suggest using it and interfering with their process.

That is precisely what Republicans like Romney and those who seek to spread their spin around on the internet, are doing, and it is not in our best interests.

Just as the radical "Christian's" decision to produce that offensive film, was not in our best interests.

How do these righties justify joining forces in campaigns of lies, deceit, and spin, which reasonable, educated people would readily admit, fully against our best interests.

The Romney campaign slogans of returning to a strong America, and trying to portray President Obama as weak, do take me back.

Does anyone remember what actually happened when Ronald Reagan was campaigning on returning to a strong America, and portraying our president as weak, like the Romney campaign is now touting?

I do remember what followed.

A decade of unprecedented terrorism, assasinations of Americans abroad, hostage taking, that whole decade was about the 1983 bombings of our Marines in Beirut, Reagan's attempt to ransom hostages by selling arms to Iran, and the 1988 bombing of Pan Am 103 over Lockerby Scotland.

The problem with Cowboy diplomacy, and the blustering of irrational Republican foreign policy, is that what happend is they invite others to test them.

That has always led us into difficulties, which proved very hard to excape once the resulting damages became undeniable, although Republicans to this day, continue to try to deny them.

Romney would prove a disaster!

Hear hear.

Nobody was a bigger fraud than the Gipper with his big talk, no action crap.

Thankfully, he backed down on almost all his big talk with the Soviets, and even with that humiliating walkback of almost all of it, still almost got our country and much of the world cremated.

I remember when the Soviets were blamed for the KAL 007 shootdown (falsely, of course. Not that they didn't shoot it down, which I believe, but they left out the provocation part and lied about every aspect). What was the Reagan retribution? To deny Aeroflot landing rights in DC or NY or something. Wow!

What did he say about the real hurt that Carter put to them, in the grain embargo? That he'd NEVER do anything like that.

It was 'Morning in America' except for the lefties who did and continue to do their best to smear and disparage anyone who dares disagree with their statist Utopia, especially our best president of the last century, Ronald Reagan. You two are a sad couple of lefties that seem to so invested in your fake world that you are totally blind to reality that your leader has led us into a mega mess.

He was a total fraud.

No question Ronald Reagan was the most overrated president of my lifetime.

Who armed and trained bin Laden, and the bones of al Qaeda?

Who propped up Saddam?

Who led the way for an unprecedented influx of illegal aliens flooding across our borders? Reagan....Amnesty!

Reagan led the way to all of our problems in the M.E.

Bush One took up the misguided endeavor, and by that time numerous Neocons had linked themselves up with the worst dictators this world had seen since Hitler, all to fill up their own pockets, in concert with the pigs in the Oil Industry, all of it at our expense, and on the blood of our kids.

Bush two turned it all into what will be decades of retribution. He, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, all of them took their hidden relationships with dictators and the oil cartel, to a whole new level of unbridled greed and corruption, agsint the interests of our country.

Just imagine how far advanced we would be now if Reagan had lost the election, and President Carter had continued his successes in negotiating peace between other M.E. leaders, as he did between Egypt and Israel!

Just imagine if he had been there to continue to reduce our dependence on foreign oil, which he cut nearly in half during his administration, and continue to lead this country away from dependence on foreign oil.

Our advancements in creating cleaner renewable fuels, continued pressure for higher cafe standards, advanced conservation methods, cleaner air and water, all would have put this country decades ahead of where we are now.

Our relationsips with other countries could have been based on teaching them as good samaritans, and selling them the education and tools which would have led to better health and economic progress, for all countries, instead of invading them, killing them, insulting them, and stealing their resources.

China would be so far behind the U.S. right now,.... but instead, GREED, poor planning, Republican negligence and stealth protection of polluting pigs, blustering and heft, unbridled Republican spending and borrowing, throwing the country under the bus, while Republicans and their NEOCON corportate Saidi/bin Ladens/Saddams/ all cut their secret deals in concert with their oil cronies, all of which made the Bush family wealthier, made Condoleeze Rice, Rumsfeld, Cheney, all of the Vulcans and their NEOCON partners, wealthier through their hidden deals with dictators, and more powerful among the American/Foreign corporate stealth deals, hence, The Rise Of The Vulcans.

Their deregulation, and systematic beating down of the Middle Class, going all the way back to Reagan, the footprints of The Shock Doctrine of Disaster Capitalism, leaving the poor to struggle endlessly, exploiting Americans with fear and lies, economic hardshps, powerless to even negotiate, all of their greed ad corruption brought us to this unfortunate place in our history, and they are STILL LYING and fear mongering about the same damn things that led us down this disastrous path, disastrous for us, and for the rest of the world.

And they still rely on turning Americans against one another, and blaming others for what they have done to all of us.

This last un-American behavior by Ryan and Romney, that they seized on a moment of international instability, national grief, and on the aniversary of the 9/11 attack, bashing the criticizing those who lost their lives, and minimalizing our president who inherited the legacy of multi-level disastrous consequences of Republican Corruption and GREED, is absolutely repulsive.

Romney has proven he is without principle, judgement or class, without dignity, or conscience. In a word, he is a pig.

He is a serious danger to the world. Possibly even as unauthentic, deceitful and self-serving as those corrupt Republican Presidents who led the way to this trying and difficult time.

If you were really on the right at that time, you'd know that few were as upset with Reagan as the right was, for his complete reversal of his positions.

Those mouth breathers that couldn't focus on much but getting drunk on the weekends didn't realize that the way Reagan got the economy to have a fair 4 years after 3 bad years, expanding the gdp by $2.3 trillion in nominal dollars, was to expand the national debt by $1.8 trillion, ending up with a tripled national debt.

That was your hero's record after making a balanced budget his core promise when running for office. Did he do that? Did he get close? Did he make progress? No, no, and no.

You seem to have a man-crush on the idealized, shall we say, Hollywood version, of some mythical Reagan, not a clear picture of the real man and his many failures in office.

I ascribe it to cognitive dissonance. When their cherished beliefs and/or world-views, plus their self images, clash... this leads to tension between two conflicting self held views which then manifests itself as cognitive dissonance. The mental discomfort produced by cognitive dissonance motivates them to maintain cognitive consistency, which in turn, can give rise to irrational and sometimes inappropriate behavior.

I am not likely to rely on a leftist to construct Reagan's image for me. I can make my own case as to why he was such a great president.

Sure, so I must repeat, have you no memory and do you not know that the right was extremely upset with Reagan from their conservative view points?

There was a little taste of it when Newt Gingrich's rivals brought up what he had said against the Gipper.

If Newt isn't right wing enough for you, there are far better credentialed legitimate members of the right saying the same thing about Reagan.

In fact, the cry went out: Let Reagan be Reagan!!! Why? Because he was clearly doing all kinds of things his conservative supporters hated, and which they though he would have really not done had he known what it was (relying too much on advisors with dubious conservative credentials, like Deaver and James A. Baker III, a Bush and before that, a Gerald Ford, loyalist and staffer).

WRONG YET AGAIN!

This President INHERITED A MEGA MESS, which was already set in stone, by the end of 2006, before Democrats ever took back the majority.

The CRASH, was already just a matter of time, and the warnings of the coming crash, which were really oringinally issued in the late nineties, by one Brooksly Born, were totally ignored, and then blocked, covered up, and exacerbated by Bush's Ownership, Society, and Greenspan's refusal to deal with what he knew damned well was coming for a year before that, which is why he retired.

See, "The Warning" Frontline, which explains the early path of the Republicans, led by Greenspan, and the entire Republican Economic FIASCO brought about by Republican obstruction of the WOMEN who saw what was coming, warned Greenspan, and was then quickly attacked, slandered, and had her power removed by Greenspan himself, whose own negligence and irrational deregulation on steroids, and Bush and Republicans cutting taxes while screwing up two wars, and Greenspan's failed presumption that the MARKET would regulate itself, which it obviously did not do.

Greenspan has admitted that much, that he was shocked that Bankers, and financial industry corporations such as AIG, Lehmann Bros., etc., etc., and the corrupt ratings agencies would all cut their own throats! Thiis had the impact of a global meltdown, on BUSH'S WATCH!

The one guy who was on it, and trying to go after the thieves on Wall St., was Elliot Spitzer, which is why he was quicky a target of Republicans, who always start by invading the privacy of any serious patriots who want to remove fraud in the system, and hence, his PRIVATE frequenting of Prostitutes was exposed, so that Republicans could continue to aid their corporate greedy pigs in their grand theft of American's collective wealth.

Your selective memory never fails you.
