Note, this is their characterization, not the Israeli government's, nor my own. After Carter was subjected to such calumny for asking that question as the title of his book, it's clear no one can say this without being labeled a bigot or worse.

It's fascinating to see what it was SIX FREAKING YEARS AGO, but not particularly on point as to what it is now, according to the Israeli government.

Most likely the numbers you link to are for Israel, proper (i.e., not including the asserted ownership and population of the West Bank, or if including it, only the Jewish settler population).

The current assertion is for all persons in the Greater asserted Israel (including all the residents of the West Bank, which the advocates of the Greater Israel idea want to annex).
