View Full Version : ATTENTION AITCH, GEE, FATS AND OTHERS!
Seek safety, be safe, if you still can ... I'd leave the east coast.
The arguments here are petty and insignificant compared to allowing yourselves and your families to be at risk.

My condo is in an old pre-war building that's quite stout and has withstood many storms and blizzards with high winds. The complex is on the highest ground in the area, so flooding should not be a major problem in my immediate area. My biggest worry is damage from tree branches, as there are a lot of older maple and oak trees here. I've got all the essentials, the windows are taped up good, and everyone around here is in good spirits.
I think the media is overplaying this hurricane, after all it is barely a Cat 1. Biggest problem will be flooding in low lying areas. The nearby towns of Hoboken and Jersey City have issued evacuation orders for anyone living in a ground floor dwelling, and NOAA buoys near NY harbor entrance have recorded 14 foot swells.
Oh and the local pub is packed for Open Mic Nite! Yeah Jerseyans are nuts and we don't let much faze us. Slainte!
