DEATH TO THE REPUBLIC! (http://washingtonexaminer.com/philly-gop-poll-inspectors-being-ousted-for-dems/article/2512714#.UJkm9sXA-4d)

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> Court-appointed Republican poll inspectors are being forcibly removed from voting stations in some Philadelphia wards and replaced in some cases by Democratic inspectors and even members of the Black Panthers, according to GOP officials.

Secrets just received this memo from GOP officials:

The Philadelphia GOP is reporting that court appointed Minority (read GOP) Inspectors are being thrown out of polling locations in several Wards.

These Inspectors are election officials - again, court appointed -- and are reportedly being thrown out by the Head Judges of Elections (these Judges are elected Democrats) and being replaced by Democrats.

This has happened at the following locations:

Ward 32, Div 13

Ward 43, Div 14

Ward 56, Div 1

Ward 56, Div 22

Ward 32, Div 28

Ward 32, Div 28

Ward 12, Div 17

Ward 39, Div 1

Ward 24, Div 9

Ward 18, Div 25

Ward 43, Div 14

Ward 29, Div 18

Ward 65, Div 19

Ward 20, Div 1

Ward 6, Div 11

Another official told Secrets: "one of our female inspectors was physically thrown out."

Presidential candidate Mitt Romney decided at the last minute to make stops in Pennsylvania, believing that the race there was close enough that he could win.</div></div>

Hard to believe this reporting from the guy who is cartooned like that at the top of his column.

Presuming any of this is true, we'll simply have to wait on the formal complaints from the GOP this should occasion.

In the meantime, judges in our system have basically plenary powers, unless stopped by higher judges.

Arbitrary rulings from partisan figures? Evidently part of our ridiculous system (cf: SecState of Ohio, and others).

Problem: they ARE empowered to do that, with cover of 'legality.'

The judge said it was true.

Meanwhile ... Obama posters hanging in polling stations, he Black Panthers are back, and you will no doubt practice DEFEND/DEFLECT/DENY all day long.

A better reported piece on this from Fox itself, here. (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/11/06/judge-issuing-order-to-reinstate-booted-philadelphia-election-officials/)

A more fully reported piece includes additional corrective facts such as:

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> A Pennsylvania judge issued an order Tuesday to reinstate Republican election officials across Philadelphia who allegedly were ejected or refused entry by on-site Democratic voting chief judges.

</div></div>

So, the system progresses, and a judge overrules the other judges. (Yawn).

"The BLACK PANTHERS ARE BACK!!!," by which is meant "the New Black Panthers," of course, and WOW are they BACK!!!

All ONE of them.

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> Elsewhere in the city, a representative from the New Black Panther Party was also spotted outside a polling site. The New Black Panthers stirred controversy in 2008 when members appeared outside a polling site, one of them holding a billy club. The representative seen Tuesday morning was not armed.

</div></div>

To be fair, he is an unusually scary guy, because he is black and stuff.

And then there's this:

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> Despite the high number of officials who were allegedly booted, the dispute itself is not uncommon for Philadelphia. Fred Voigt, legal counsel for the city commissioners, said these kinds of face-offs happen "with regularity" in the City of Brotherly Love.

"It happens all the time," Voigt said. He said court-appointed Republican officials typically show up on Election Day and end up squaring off against stand-in officials at the polling sites filling in the open seats. Part of the problem, he said, is that the Republican inspectors are appointed on relatively short notice, leading to a string of confrontations on Election Day.

"There are no cool heads here," Voigt said.

Thank you for confirming my predictions.

I look forward to your further defenses of thugocracy.

Correcting fear-mongering about 'Black Panthers' taking over precincts by mentioning it is 'the new Black Panthers,' and not plural, but singular (one guy, not a crew of them), is not defending thugocracy, but defending truth.

Adding in the detail that whatever the first judges did, another judge is over-ruling and reversing, is also defending the truth, by providing a larger and more complete picture.

That your worst fear-mongering take isn't right should be pleasing to you (as the more preferred outcome), and yet all you can do is complain that thugocracy has been defended? It has not been, obviously. Rather, you seem upset to have your bubble burst, and tropes destroyed, by the facts. Why would that be?

So you are OK with all of this?

I think these election day debacles are a national disgrace, and that if local control is the problem, it ought to be fixed by law.

I think no election official should be an overt partisan (as in, SecState and state level campaign chair or co-chair).

And I include the pre-election debacles as well, as those are as or more significant in effect than what goes on election day.

It's obvious why we have this system and haven't fixed it. It's helpful to one side or the other, or both, in perpetuating these particular sides in power.

He didn't clean my clock.

I will grant you that the low information voter carried the day.

In the end, this may be a blessing.

The US political system has been determined to collapse our economy in pursuit of maintaining power.

The second term of Obama will bring about said collapse sooner, and only then can we begin to recover.
