A friend of mine picked up a cue at a garage sale. On the butt it says David Howard by Meucci. It's in great shape but appears to be quite old. What does he have here?

A Meucci. They made a good number of Little David cues years ago.
Now, if you have Jim Rempe's jewel cue, then you have something.

1982, 1986 U.S. 9-ball Open Champion, according to AZBilliards.

At a point when there were hardly any major professional tournaments, David Howard had some 20 titles by 1986. That makes him at one point a world class player that represented the upper echelon in pool.

Meucci made David Howard signature cues.. in the mid to late 80s. The logo was Meucci Originals with a cue stick thru the name. These were the better quality cues that I believe Meucci made.

David Howard, Jim Rempe, and Earl Strikland were all using Bob Meucci's cues in the mid to late 80s.

I heard Strickland snapped his Meucci during a match against The Miz at the Sands and said that was the last time he was using it. He then borrowed a cue from the audience and came back and beat Miz.
But, this might just be a tale.

And now he plays with a Cuetec.. go figure.

I also heard that after he ran 11 racks in a row.. he shattered the Cuetec cue he played with. I wonder if this is a "tale" also?
