If that is the Michael Schmidt I am thinking of, he is a network engineer in Germany, who plays Pool as a secondary activity to his job. He had beaten some big-name pro's before in tournaments in Europe.

His bio says 3 years as a pro. That's a typo I'm sure. Probably more like 13. Check it out. He's got a nice resume.
