OK Folks. Heads up (in case you hadn't heard) about the newest B.S. scandal being manufactured by the right.

Right wing sites have posted dozens of articles claiming Obama is calling for an end to Catholic schools or that he is attacking religion or that he wants to end religious schools around the world. You name it. They are claiming it.

Here's the quote from Obama they cite as evidence.

"If towns remain divided if Catholics have their schools and buildings and Protestants have theirs, if we can't see ourselves in one another and fear or resentment are allowed to harden that too encourages division and discourages cooperation."

The President was speaking about keeping a lasting peace between religious sects in Ireland and he was promoting the idea, already begun in some parts, to desegregate the schools, NOT end them.

Here's a legitimate news article with which to combat the right wing zombies. They won't give a crap anyway, but hey, at least you will be armed with the truth.

I've been watching lie after lie from their lie machine since the '90s at least. That's what they do, over and over again.

I make the odds 80/20 any new thing they come up with is a lie, at minimum, based on a long history of watching them.

The boy who called wolf applies to them in spades, so on the minority of times they may have something, they've damaged any credibility in even the odd case where they've got something correct.

It's as if they operate under the fervent belief that "if you throw enough sh*t at the wall some of it is bound to stick" (even if it's nothing but lies). Lies, lies, lies...that's all we get from the right. No jobs legislation, no budget agreements, nothing but obstructionism, stupidity, bigotry, misogyny, manufactured outrage and lies.

The GOP is doomed. By the time they come to their senses there will not be a GOP to save because they will have turned all but the most fervent ultra-rightist mental midgets against them.

I think they do, and they are not entirely incorrect. People go with 'where there's smoke, there's fire!,' neglecting that sometimes where there is smoke, there is a smoke machine off stage.
