View Full Version : How to tell when there are New Posts

How can you keep up, and know "what's new" at a glance?

Don't worry... that's easy. The system here is set up to alert you to new posts and direct you to them.

First make sure you are logged in. If you are not a registered user and logged in, not only will you not see all the forums.. but post tracking won't be available to you.

When looking at a list of forums.. in the "Main Index" there will be a light bulb lit (http://www.billiardsdigest.com/ccboard/images/newposts.gif) if there are new posts or replies inside. There will also be a number to the right telling you how many new posts and/or replies inside. The forum will display an unlit light bulb (http://www.billiardsdigest.com/ccboard/images/nonewposts.gif) if there are no new posts or replies.

Click into a forum with new posts.

Inside here...Look at the post icons next to each thread. If they are yellow (http://www.billiardsdigest.com/ccboard/images/icons/book.gif)... there are no new replies since your last visit. If they are orange (http://www.billiardsdigest.com/ccboard/images/newicons/book.gif).. then there are new posts inside there. If the icon is orange, there will also be a number to the right telling you the number of new replies.

IF the Lightbulbs / New Post Icons don't seem to be functioning correctly:
Sometimes those light bulbs and post icons can mis-beahave and not function correctly. This is usually a browser setting (cached pages) or cookie problem.

Now that you know what to look for, if they don't seem to be behaving correctly, then check that your browser isn't caching pages. If you continue to have trouble, try logging out, manually deleting the cookies from our site, and logging back in.
