The USPPA tournament ended in a storm of controversy. While all contestants had to meet a mininum # of tournaments played, there was a bonus to be awarded of $6,000, if the winner had met an additional # of tournaments played, requirement. The finals had one player qualified, and one not, for the bonus. The qualified player had just defeated Tony Annigonni,(3rd place) the USPPA rep, with a very strong performance. Before the finals, Tony had repeated his earlier warnings, no splitting of the extra prize money;if the match was "suspect", he would withhold the $6k, and add it to the next tournament. I can't comment on match, but surprise!, surprise!,the qualified player won, and after watching the match, and reviewing the tape..the money was withheld, the players were barred from the USPPA for 6 mos, they we banned from the Casino, and not allowed to play in the open. I don't know how you can determine, if a player is just having a bad match, or....feeling the heat.. I "fold like a cheap suit", when I'm under pressure, but the tape may tell the story
