View Full Version : Where Exactly do the DIAMONDS go on a table ?

I mean where do you take the measurements from ?
Say you want three diamonds between a corner and middle pocket. Is it measured as a third of the distance between the centre of the corner pocket and the centre of the middle pocket ?
or is the measurement from where the cushion begins ?
I have no idea
There are 4 intervals so you need to divide the distance by 4. Only three diamonds are needed because the side pocket leaves no place to put a diamond. The center of the corner pocket also does not permit the installation of a diamond. Rather than thinking of the center of the pocket it is the intersection of the two rails where the measurement should be taken so on a table that measures 100" nose to nose the diamonds will go at 12 1/2" intervals. Only 6 required but 7 required on a billiard table since the side pocket is absent.
The table is divided into 32 equal squares.

How far back from the rails do the diamonds go?
Since most kicking systems involve aiming at the diamond rather than at the "rail track point" adjacent to the diamond, varying the distance of installation would change the actual point hit on the rail.
