If anyone knows anything about the upcoming movie "Poolhall Junkies", I would appreciate it if you would please tell me. WHEN and WHERE it's coming out. Thanks.

Last I heard (about 2 months ago) was the end of February. Hope I'm right. You gotta be patient though. It was only supposed to come out 3 years ago. Dying to see it myself.

The latest info says that "Poolhall Junkies" goes into national release in limited cities in mid-March, 2003. It will be in mid-size and smaller market release sometime in April. I'd look for it then.

i would pay the 12 dollars plus some shipping to get the movie a bit early. Black market can be a dangerous thing!

A'hem, A'hem...he meant we'd really love to try one of the blank tapes from that part of the world, even if it did cost 12 bucks and accidentally had some home movies we had to live with ;-)) sid

I just received this via email... (I'm pretty sure I got on this mailing list because the former now defunct South Padre Island 8-ball tournament "shared" their mailing list with these guys...)

Quote pool-hustler@prodigy.net:

Poolhall Junkies, the movie, premiers at the Windy City Open tournament this week! Hollywood producers will be there to show parts of the movie. Also, the producers are bringing in another added feature to the events of the weekend; Mike Massey will be at the tournament for 2 days to do exhibitions!

Mike Massey will be at the tournament on Thurs. and Fri., and he will give a show and pass out promotional material at 7pm on Friday, January 10, 2003.

Herb Wilmot, Marketing Specialist for Poolhall Junkies will be there along with his partner, Robert LeBlanc, who was the pool technical advisor for the movie. Both will coordinate the distribution of promotional literature which will include Jersey shirts, Mini-DVDs of the trailer (called a Mood Piece, that was created and put together by the Star and Director of the movie--Mars Callahan) stickers and probably some posters of the movie.

In addition to the 1st place prize for winning the open 8 ball tournament, the producers have graciously added more to the prize. Not only will the winner receive the cash prize and trophy, the 1st place finisher will receive one round trip plane ticket along with hotel accommodations for the premier party of the movie in Hollywood (Los Angeles, California which will occur in Mid Feb.

I just happen to have "The Color of Money", a genuine copy with the box and everything. I think it was only $10.99, at a local Hastings video store. I could always get another, I guess. Anyway, I don't have an Aramith cue ball. You usually have to order them off of the internet. I'm not sure of any place to buy them, though. But sure, I'd trade you movies. We could each go buy another copy of the one that we traded. Sounds good to me!
