Sailor Barge

Greetings all,
I play in NYC and have a friend who was a student/protege of Sailor Barge. My friend refers to Sailor Barge as a "pool genius". He also says all the greats of his day ducked him. Does anyone have any further info on him.

Sailor Bill Barge, the best hustler I have ever seen move. Wow, what a character he was. I grew up in Staten Island, NY and played at Cue Town Billiards in Port Richmond. He was the best I have have ever seen. He would come in and run balls for a few hours and then just stop. Saw him run hundreds. He taught me how to 3 play cushion in 1968, and could he play, wish I could have taken more in. Thanks for the memory.
