View Full Version : Veneer color choices?

I've been trying to decide on a color combination for veneers on a custom cue. Any suggestions? Most examples on the web are slightly washed out so I can't be sure from the photos plus without seeing the entire cue, I can't tell how one set of colors look compared to another.
Cocobola butt, linen wrap, maple forearm, white joint collar and butt plate. What colors for the points? Thanks, Clay

Walk through the gallery of this site to see some nice pictures of cues with a variety of veneers.

But, be advised, I'm not suggesting that you copy the designs. IMO, what you like should be from the heart. The site just has some good relatively clear pictures of various veneered points.

The colors make a big difference in the way a cue looks. Check out this Tad:

(black, burgundy, blue, black, white) - the photo color is slightly off. The blue is almost a baby blue. Tad's baby blue titleist points are simply breathtaking. It's a small touch of color that adds a softness to the forearm. His flawless execution is what makes his work stand out. I figure the only way he can achieve this level of perfection is to throw away a lot of imperfect cues!
