I'm looking to add to my list on smoke-free pool establishments,
and also to make a list of alcohol-free pool establishments.

I know they are harder to find but I would like to have the names of such places across the country.

I wish I knew, preacherman. I've never smoked, and pretty much gave up drinking years ago. I'd love to find a place nearby I could take my family to shoot pool in comfort. That's one of the reasons I just bought a home table. Don't know what part of Georgia you're in, but Chattanooga Billiard Club is a very nice, upscale PH. Nick Varner and Johnny Archer just had a banquet and exhibition matches there a couple months back. They're NOT smoke and alcohol free, but during the day, even on weekends, it's very quiet and relatively smoke free.

A couple of issues ago in Billiards Digest, an article was written on so-called "family" pool halls. A very nice one was featured that served no alcohol, and had a seperate smoking section. I wish they were more plentiful myself.

Well, pretty soon a lot of poolhalls and other establishments in New York will be smoke free. Alcohol free? I don't know about that. The best they can do there is the usual 21 and over law. Otherwise, the only times I've seen alcohol free poolrooms is because they don't have the license.

By the way, Hall of Fame Billiards in Brooklyn, NY, (Jean Balukas' place) is alcohol free. It's not smoking free yet but like I said, it will be soon. They are a 2 floor establishment and you're not allowed to smoke when you're playing on the lower floor. On the main level, they have a smoking section towards the back.

Thanks I had Hall of Fame Billiards in Brooklyn, NY down as non-smoking downstairs - I will add them to alcohol free

Thanks for the input.
We have a couple pool establishments in Atlanta that are non-smoking. I'll have to look back through my Billiard Digest to see the "family" friendly establishments :-)

Check out what I have so far for non-smoking around the country at: www.geocities.com/pool4Christ/wholesomepool.html (http://www.geocities.com/pool4Christ/wholesomepool.html)
