I have an extra brand new copy of the EAGLES GREATEST HITS on CD. I figured I'd give it away, and maybe a CCB friend would like it. But who should I give it to if more than one person wants it?

So if anyone wants it, post the top three to five reasons why you want it or why you should get it. When everyone's whos interested has given their reasons, they can vote for who gave the best awnser. Only persons who posted an anwser are elegible to vote for an awnser, but you cannot vote for yourself, and you must vote to remain elegible to get it. To whomever gets the most votes, I will send the CD. If there is a tie, I'll vote. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

1. I'm The King of Cool, I'm A Dancin' Fool. I Am The Ayatolah of Rock 'n Rolla.

2. I never bother anybody on CCB. I'm always nice and respectful of other people.

3. I was smoking a lot of pot when those songs came out and I can't remember much. I'm hoping that hearing those songs will jar my memory.

4. I lost almost all my money gambling on pool this week and I don't have any money to buy CDs. I need to save what I have left to get into a game tonight.

I'm here for your offer. I had never heard about the Eagles until I enlisted in the Army since at that time in Puerto Rico, we didn't hear much American Music. That was 1978. The first song I heard of them was Hotel California. I was immediately hooked. The string sections are superb!

So, I purchased the album, which included a poster of them and the lirics of Hotel California in the inside cover. Other great songs through the years are "Life in the fast lane, I can't tell you why, New Kid in Town, Tequila Sunrise, Heartache Tonight, and Get over it!

In April 1994, when they reunited again I purchased the video tape. Their music was excellent, exactly what everyone expected. If you havent seen it I highly recommend it. The video is named "Hell Freezes Over" and includes 17 of their greatest songs! It is the only musical video tape I have ever purchased! They are simply a "Superb Group"!!!!!

Hoping this answer is legally sufficient for your contest!

5 reasons why I should get the CD.

1) I've posted more worthless garbage on this forum than any single CCB poster. I need more things to keep me occupied.

2) I am a vaunted CCB keychain distributor

3) I have an entire bag of Barbara's pecans

4) I've never won a single contest in my entire life.

5) I am a Boston Red Sox fan which proves I'm used to suffering. You can end this all in 1 move.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Following that example, here are my reasons.

I like the eagles.

I don't have any of their albums.

I post both worthless, some good and some ugly.

I don't even have a CCB chain. /ccboard/images/graemlins/mad.gif

And no never tried Barbaras nuts, Kato you have to many! /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

However I did win something once, a pig, yes that's right a real live oinky oinky. It's not a dream, they eat.

Remember I am in the land of the Cardnials, they really suck. Tom if they passed by your home you would not of needed to buy that $300 turbo vaccuum!

But the number 1 reason I should get the album is, outside of being a wonderful good all around guy LOL is I helped you save your pillows. All bets are off if the pillows explode! /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

1. I love the Eagles. (Sure it's from before my time but I'm a Classic Rock gal and they don't make music like that anymore!)

2. You don't need postage and handling with me. I see you on Tuesdays!

3. I'm the one and only 9 Ball Girl.

4. Oh wait, I can just download and burn a CD at home! /ccboard/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

5. I vote for Kato 'cause he's a cutie with sprinkles! /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Tom,

When I was about 13 my cousin, Dee, from West (by God) Virginia came to live with us in the big city (the big suburbs really). When she moved into her own place a couple of years later she left me albums. Most notably were Wild Cherry (she knew those guys), Black Oak Arkansas (Whoa Black Betty) and The Eagles Greatest Hits. The only one I still have is The Eagles, but it's totally umplayable. Dee now lives in FL and I never get to see her anymore.

If you were to give me this CD it would help re-connect me to a long lost relative. I can't think of a nobler cause. /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Are you sure? A local band from Oxford, OH (home of Miami Univ. of Ohio) called "Ram Jam" had a national hit with Black Betty.

The only song I remember from Black Oak Arkansas was "Jim Dandy to the Rescue"

I think it should go to Chris Cass. The man has been through a lot and we will all be glad when he can Get over it. While Love will keep us alive, Chris has had to rely on other sources to do that for him.

A surprise gift like this can be as fulfilling as that first kiss from The girl from yesterday and might just be the one thing to keep his spirits up...I can't tell you why, it's just a thought and the tunes might help him to Take it easy and Learn to be still while he is recovering.

This isn't The last resort but to keep him away from Life in the fast lane, staying home and resting is just what this CD might do for him. The boy is somewhat of a Desperado and he is probably longing to get back In the city in a New York minute.

So, get all of your Pretty maids all in a row, vote to give it to Chris, and I'll toast a Tequila Sunrise to each of you.

C'mon, don't let this be Wasted time. Vote for CC!

Regards,

Ken (couldn't figure out how to get Hotel California in there. I tried but finally gave up. I would have been here until Hell freezes over.)

Ken - Good to see you posting again - thought Martha might have put out a contract on you and you were hiding out.

Couldn't agree more with your suggestion re C.C. - Eagles gotta make you feel better!

Regards,

Walt in VA

I definitely second that thought! I cannot argue with this choice. Maybe we could forward our signatures to Tom via email so he could paste it on the CD cover, and then forward to Chris!.

Harold ~ "I can't tell you why" but I'll "Take it Easy" and "Get over it" in a "New York minute".

I dont want the CD...I would like to see it go to CC. Just for the record, if it wasnt for Don Felder and Joe Walsh blistering guitar antics, Timothy B. Schmidt blazing bass riffs and alto background voice, Glenn Frey and Don Henley woulda never got a shot at solo careers. I seen the Eagles twice...1980 and 1995, they sounded so good it was frightening. Good luck choosing where that CD ends up Tom...I dont envy you at all!!

Quote Voodoo Daddy:
Good luck choosing where that CD ends up Tom...I dont envy you at all!!

LoL Steve. I already have that covered. From the rules of the contest as posted at the top you can see that it is not I but the players themselves who must vote for the most worthy recipient. As far as CC goes, I would like to do something for him if I can, but I donít know if he even likes the Eagles. LoL.

Actually, the reason I have two copies of this CD was because I got them as gifts from people who were actually pretty close to me but didnít really know me or try to get to know me. Their gift, given to me out of a sense of obligation at Christmas time or my birthday serves to remind me of that. You see it happens that I donít particularly care for the Eagles music very much. LoL.

Anyway, I donít think any more submissions will be coming in, so we will be proceeding to the voting stage.

The bidding stage is over. Participants: PM me with your vote!

Remember you must vote to be eligible to win and you cannot vote for yourself! I will tally the votes and reveal the winner when all the votes are in or after one week, whichever comes later. I will only reveal the count of the vote. Participants may make any comments they desire in the forum, but only the votes PMíd to me count.

I will retain the votes in my inbox for one week after the vote is complete to allow for challenges which must be made within that time and will only be considered with the consent of all the voters and other terms I will reveal in the event of that occurrence. Otherwise, the PMs get erased and remain anonymous forever.

Oh yea, shipping and handling on the CD is $12.99. (Not really, just kidding.)

Good luck to all.

Wally is correct. It was Ram Jam that did Black Betty. I should have known better I just got a CD with Black Betty on it.
