soft cue cases

We store our cues in hard cases and straight up, away from humidity and extremes in temperature. I had a question about soft cases. If I used one when I took my sticks to the pool hall for several hours, would that make my sticks warp?

I do not want to do anything to hurt my sticks.

I have a cue that has spent over 30 years in a soft case and is straight as an arrow. Assuming proper care, the cue will not warp from the soft case. Again, assuming proper care, warping is more a result of stresses in the wood, not the case. JMHO.
