View Full Version : Saddam's videotaped slip up

There has been a lot of debate whether the videos of Saddam of late are real or if they were taped before the war began. CIA has already confirmed the voice on the recordings is Saddam and I guess they have come to the same conclusion as the man in the picture. All the tapings have been very vague and definitely could have been tape prior, but no one knows for sure.

Today, though, there was a mistake....
Quote msnbc.com:
And when he cited several units and commanders, saluting them “for their heroic feats in the battlefield,” he named the commander of the 11th Iraqi Brigade in Basra, who surrendered along with many of his troops in the early hours of the war. That prompted officials at the allied Central Command in Qatar to conclude that the tape was likely recorded before the beginning of the hostilities.
British Defense Secretary Geoff Hoon came to a similar conclusion in a briefing on Monday. “As far as the pictures this morning are concerned, obviously analysis continues. But what I can say straight away is that those pictures were not live,” he told a London news conference.
Hoon added that Saddam’s health made no difference to the military campaign.

http://www.msnbc.com/news/889289_asp.htm?0cv=CB10
