I just wanted to say Hello to everyone. I have been lurking here for the last couple weeks, looking around and reading all your posts. I teach Billiards at Weber State University in Utah. Although i have been teaching for 3 years, you have all taught me quite a bit in the last few weeks. I have started to pass this on to my students, and will continue to do so. I really like the Pooltable diagram program. This makes it very easy to share things ideas with students and my fellow instructors. Anyhow, thanks again for all your great info and can't wait to get to know you all more.

Does your Mid-term exam involve Masses and Jump shots? Can one run a few racks of 9ball for extra points? Can you be bidded with a really nice custom cue?

All kidding aside, welcome. Glad to have you here.

Yeah my friends at Washignton State U. teach the pool clases there. They get paid $10/hr to teach a beginners and advanced course. Two hours a day, but I wouldn't complain. We don't get activities credits at U. Washington, so we can't get paid for it. But class is always in session...dismissed. HEHE

Hi rackboyut. Sounds like a great job. Hope everything goes well for you and your students. What level of Instructor Certification are you? How long are the normal classes?....randyg

Visit Barenada's Pool Page and you will find diagrams on crucial banks, end-game banks, practice shots, workouts, etc. I have pasted his page below. You may also see some of his practice shots on a small video. Just click on the link under the tables (look carefully). Have fun!

Right now i am just Coach certified. Im hoping to get instructor certified this summer by a local man named Tom Buchanon. He is a great guy, great pool player and has been around a while. Ill keep you all informed on how this goes. And yup, my final exam does require some shooting skills. Not a masse, but it does involve english, which is pretty hard for most beginners. Anyhow, thanks all for your support, and i will be sure to check out those pages.
