Dead Rails?

There is about a 2 inch section on my rail (about a diamond away from the foot corner) that makes a 'twang' sound like a rubber band instead of the normal bounce. I've tested it and it looks like it has about the same bounce in it as other parts of the rail, it just makes a weird sound. I've felt around and I can't see that the rubber is separated or anything. What's the deal? This is on a 9 month old 8' Connelly.

Dustin...It may be nothing...or it may be that the rubber has separated from the wood backing a little. If the bounce is nearly the same as other areas, it probably makes little difference. I'll take a look at it when I see you in 3 weeks, and see if I think it needs to be repaired.
