View Full Version : Lessons in Cincinnati?

Just bought a pool table in December. Purchased two tapes (Byrne) and several books but I feel I need lessons. I've called most of the pool halls in northern Cincy and no one seems to know of any instructors in the area. Any help would be appreciated - Thanks - Aquaman10

The BCA would be a good website to start your search. I think there are two instructors in this area.

Ask if they provide videos with their lessons. For the price they charge.. you should get a video

John Brumback is someone that comes to mind. He lives in Owenton, Kentucky, but he is in Cincinnati quite a bit. He is a top player who has won several major events. He is a very good teacher and very resonable. Contact me at 1-888-922-5588 if you want his contact info.

I currently take lessons from Martin Rimliner in Springboro and I would recommend him. He gives lessons out of his house which is right off I-75. Lessons are on a 9ft GC. Give him a call at 937-748-0685 and tell him Shayne sent you.
Good luck

Aquaman, look up Tom in Cincy, I know he loves to play and he may or may not be interested in helping you some. He is a great guy as well as knowledgable, I just dont know if he is willing to try instructing LOL. How about it Tom?

I took lessons from John Scalf. He lives in North Bend. He's a good teacher and a great guy. The only problem is you may have to pester him to set up lessons. He's pretty busy in his regular job. He won't charge you an arm and a leg. He's not in it for the money.

Do you ever go out to play or just at home? Stop by Snookers sometime and say hi. Tom in Cincy (Tom Suarez) is usually quite happy to help out new players.
