Hello Harold,
I had read that article earlier today and was hoping you would mention it. Did you play? I have this weird thing about wanting to know how Jason Cruz is playing. After seeing him in real life (about 2 years ago) playing that well at that young of an age has piqued my interest. It will be nice to see him win a US Open one year. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif
To prove my point he knocked out Frankie Hernandez (sp?). He is a great young player.

Read the second page for info about the special recognition given to Jason. We list his past 3 year accomplishments.
Jason is still in College (University of Puerto Rico). That is how he got to represent us at the ACUI Tournaments.

Very nice write-up. I had the luxury of watching Jason in the 2001 (or 2000, i cannot remember but it was in Gainesville, Fl). He is a great player. I don't remember seeing anything real flashy, like his cb running all over the place. He was very methodical and seemed to move the ball as little as possible. Congratulations to all the players.

Nice write up Harold. With such a good turnout and the possibility of more pro's next year it should become a great event.

More info of Jason and our tournaments will be posted in the future...if Mike Howerton gives me the space, that is!
A new picture has been added to the second article. Jason's accomplishments are listed there. He is not a flashy player, he is very humble, calm while playing and always has a smile for everyone. He's still a college student, so I don't think the US Open is in his mind yet.
I didn't play. The tournament was for the top 16 Puerto Rican players and the invitees. My job was to get the tournament promoted around the Island, so I thought about AZ Billiards. I really have to give Mike a million thanks for his assistance!.
