My home town (Dillon,SC) just had their festival on the square this weekend. I enterd the hog cooking contest and won 3rd place for my BBQ Hog. Anyone need any catering at the US Open this year, let me know. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif
How big was the hog? Sounds good. Open pit?

You shouldve advertised it here before the cook off, this way we coulda come down there and ate some and convinced the judges you were worthy of no less than 2nd place. /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

thanks, I'll remember that for the next one. About 150 lbs - would have been a plenty for everyone.Might just have to do one just for ccb'ers.

Congratulation!!! You guys in low country SC know how to cook a porker. I wish I had been there. Paul Chapman use to be my PE teacher when I was in high school. He left Hartsville, sc for Dillon to coach the varsity football team. He was quite a guy. Ever hear of him? Candyman

What brand/size smoker do you have? I'm looking at a Lang Model 48 (the one with wheels.) I don't plan on entering any competitions but wouldn't mind cooking a few slabs of ribs, some turkeys and briskets for 75 of my closest friends. Okay...two friends and 73 strangers.

Mine is homemade. It's on wheels. Has two cookers on it and a double vat deep fat fryer. If interested, I have a friend here who builds them.
