View Full Version : Double kiss to carom?

Are there any conditions in which you could get a double kiss to carom the object ball into a pocket? This seems like it would be a very useful tool, if at all possible.

I used to **attempt** something like this, when I played on 7 footers:
Sometimes I would try the same idea, with the balls much closer together. The idea is to use top, to keep the CB in the way of the rebounding OB. I've only made 1 or 2 of these, and it was more dumb luck thank skill.
I've also seen one diagrammed on the CCB this past year:
You can get the idea from the diagram, but I don't remember the actual diamond/dot line-up or spin to use. Hopefully, someone else will chime in--I vaguely recall it being Sid_Vicious who posted it, but it might be houstondan, or Voodoo. . . .

Somebody showed me a shot similar to your second one but more like this:
I can make it pretty regularly in practice and even made it once in an 8-ball game. Can be useful in one pocket too.
It's an old one hole shot. Real good for putting it in front of the pocket and leaving the c/b long. Amazing enough it gets made more often than one would think.

There is a safety similar to this, but thsi can be made if practiced.
The yellow arrow shows the path of the cue ball after the double kiss on the 8.
"Don't choke....it's not that hard of a shot.."
