NYC CCB Tourney?

Considering how much interest there has been in the fall tournament and how many CCBers live in and around NYC, I'm wondering whether there would be any interest in having a (semi-regular?) competition here.

Entry fees can be stiff for local events, and this could be a good way to have a little competition and maybe socialize some. Maybe a $20 entry sort of thing? I'll gladly defer to any veterans who might want to try this out.

A couple of more notions on this ... an easy way to keep it from being a complicated deal would be to, say, have a draw of 16 and have early rounds arranged to be played whenever opponents can agree. Only last few matches would need to be held in a single session. Just an idea ... I see it as an inexpensive way to meet some good players without the obligations and such of playing in a league or formal tournaments.
