View Full Version : What do you do?

I have to confess, i am am home dawg mom, pool bum. Post too much, play on my table a lot, take my dawgs on walks.

WW has this hi faluting job which supports us but does not let him on ccb much.

So instead of getting the good pool playin, analytical (but not as much as Fred), dry witted guy, you get this inexperienced poster, me, who soaks lots of you up like a sponge.

What do the rest of you do and does your job allow you to get on ccb?

I work. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif Since I do a lot of web development, it lends me time on the net. So, that is why I can be here pretty often. I have 2 monitors I work from and 1 monitor I got somehow. In the afternoon, I usually have a game on the screen (baseball right now). I do not get to see the game, but the scores are updated/refreshed along with the call by call plays every 30 sec. In the morning I have this site up, and if I have some time or need a break, I refresh the screen and see what is new.

I check in a few times a day. It keeps me from falling asleep. Sometimes my job is quite challenging and interesting and sometimes it's just sheer drudgery.

I'm a customer service rep. I sit in front of the computer all day.

Kato~~~actually has a crazy job but I post when I can.

I'm a computer network engineer, while I am online all day at work I don't get alot of time to post, I keep up on some of the threads but thats about it. Then of course my evenings are generally spent in the pool halls.
So I figured this thread an opportunity to just say Hi and yes I am still here, sorta, kinda, and doing great! Oh yes and enjoying the single life again!! WOO HOO!! /ccboard/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I'm an IT Specialist for the Feds (G-Folk) and I'm always at a computer. I log in first thing in the morning when I come in to work (I don't drink coffee so the CCB is my morning coffee) and I'll leave myself logged in throughout the day, ocassionally refreshing the MainBoard screen to see what's new. Oh yeah, I also took part in placing the pod that now lives under Kato's bed. /ccboard/images/graemlins/blush.gif /ccboard/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm a Systems Engineer and also sit in front of (multiple) computers all day. Between designing systems and writing code I often check CCB and a few other boards throughout the day.

When I get home, I also sit in front of (multiple) computers until about 1am. Much to my wife's dismay, but after 14 years she's used to it... /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm a microwave engineer. I design analog integrated cicuits, and specialize in mathematical modeling of gallium arsenide semiconductor devices. Plus, I like to cook, read, play pool, and ride motorcycles (but being a nerd pays the bills). I don't watch TV.

06-17-2003, 04:13 PM
I'm a Project Manager for a large multi-state Industrial Painting Company. Estimate and follow through the jobs. Drive around, take pictures, sit in front of the comp. That also pays the bills, but I also love pool, golf, watching my Mariners.

I am a tech geek as well.
I am part of a 4-man team who maintains a network of 1000 + computers.
Since I am fast, I get plenty of time for E-life.
If I stayed home like you Laura, I'd wear out my back playing pool.
I am moving to a larger house soon. I am almost certain a pool table will fit in the new crib. I am seriously looking to divide the garage too for my next hobby;cuemaking.
I am a level one machinist and have been amassing cuebuilding knowledge the last year with my local master cuemaker.

Us Network Engineers have lots of time in front of a PC all day. I spend at least 5 hours a day (more when there are problems) staring into a moitor.

Then, when I'm not out playing or recently Packing for the big move, I usally check out CCB AZBilliards, Email and play a little cards befor bedtime (usually around mid-nite)

Been doing the network gig for almost 12 years.

I write headlines and move commas around for a major metropolitan newspaper ... and fight a neverending battle for truth, justice, etc. And between crises -- most recent being a Chihuahua lost in Prospect Park /ccboard/images/graemlins/shocked.gif (A dog-gone shame) -- I ponder pool-related wisdom hereabouts.

AC ... who spells somewhat better than he shoots.

Ever heard of CoFR (Crusty Old Fossil Rockers)? I'm a member. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've got to finish up some "real work" that I've been working on now for a few months, but when I'm gaming I play everything. My favorite online games are MoHAA, Tribes2, and.... wait for it.... Virtual Pool 3. /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I'm agonizing over PlanetSide and Star Wars Galaxies as my next pay-as-you-play MMORPG...

Like Wendy, I am a Fed.
If I tell you any more than that, I will have to hunt you down and kill you. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I sit in front of a computer all day long. The nature of my job requires that I take breaks to avoid scrambling my brain and making errors.
Rather than going outside for a smoke, I check the CCB.

Hey Spidey,

If you ever do watch TV, check out the Discovery channel starting at 7PM on Monday nights. Great programming. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif Monsters house, Monsters Garage, and then American Choppers. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I am blue-collar all the way. I work in a foundry making aluminum sand castings. These castings are major engine parts for General Motors. It is very hot, dirty, and physical work. Very fast paced.

I am super glued to my chair .Fortunately my chair has wheels so i dont have to stand up to get myself a beer.I have my computer by the window so i can throw my bottles into the street. Once a month i go to get my handout ,whilst on the way I spry my name on every wall and if I am lucky I might manage to impregnate some lucky girl so that i can later deny that the kid is mine. After my stop at the koffieshop i am stocked up for the month with cigs and 'drugs'.Then I just hang around ,talk to you guys and wait for the tax back that i didnt pay in.

If you dont believe me , just ask

Quote dmorris68:
. . .Ever heard of CoFR (Crusty Old Fossil Rockers)? I'm a member. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just looked it up--neat idea. . . .Never played CS.

I'm agonizing over PlanetSide and Star Wars Galaxies as my next pay-as-you-play MMORPG...

I used to lean towards RTS, and I like the combo of FPS and Strategy games, but I usually only have time to play quick DM or CTF games, if I load QIII. Otherwise, I'll load DiabloII, just to mindlessly run around an whack zombies. . . .

Tribes2 got loaded by the techs at one of the jobsites I was at a couple of years back, but I never got to play it--I want to check out the Xbox version tho.

I've also played the VP3 demo, and have an early PS1 Virtual Pool (v1, I think), and it's okay, but now I can just play on a 'real' table downstairs. I might get it for the on-line competition sometime, however.

Quit agonizing about the choice. See if you can pick them both up from eBay, at half the price each!--I'm starting to jones for MechAssault, myself.

~~apologies, for all those who don't get the initialisms

All I know is that when Halo 2 comes out Live online, I am going to be whooping some fools up. Already got a spare Xbox from a comp to vouch for it.

Talk your boss into going on line. Maybe even a webcam .
Every club should have one .!!

Hey Q,

If it wasn't for the video lottery terminals,we would be in deep trouble!I think i would have a better chance of winning the US Open than the poolhall getting online. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Do many halls have webcams?I've seen some on the Billiard network.
