I ran a 9! /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif and there was only one luck shot in that run it came on my 6th billiards, anyway on my 9th billiard i made this shot:
START(
%Bo0I4%DD8M6%EN7Q9%Uq0I9%Vs3H3%WF7N9%XM5Q2%Yr8G7%Z i2C5%eC0_9
%_h4C5%`L6G9%aC4M9
)END

Wei Carom (http://endeavor.med.nyu.edu/~wei/pool/caromtable.html)

I used a lot of force follow to get the curve, i had learnd this shot by mistake one day trying to do something else and i filed it away in my memory banks in case i ever came up with this position again.
it was sweet I managed to avoid the double kiss and ended up with a fairly easy 3C shot with the white OB big in the corner, but i freaking missed it! Oh well 9 is my new high run and i did it on a non heated table, i just hope i can one day come close to doing it again.

I think it is time i took some lessons and learn a system.

Nice run nAz. Ok I need weight! /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I am curious though, instead of all that force follow you get a big ball this direction. It's pretty standard type shot even on a pool table. I just moved your lines around. Great run though.

I thought a "big ball" meant you could hit it either going in or coming out? If you hit this one going in, you only get 2 cushions.

<~~~ Actually curious, don't know a damn thing about 3C...

Steve neither did I lol. I'm really trying to learn the game right now maybe ask Migueal Torres for some lessons he is awesome at the game. that 9 billiard run was a fluke for me, but i know one day i'll be able to string together 5 billiards at will /ccboard/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Ya Rod this is the way I would normally play the shot: START(
%Bo0I4%DD4M5%EN7Q9%Gl9C8%HI2[2%IC0Q0%JD9N5%KM8Q5%Uq1H6%Vr8G7
%Yr5F9%Zn0C4%eA1a4
)END

but like i said i was waiting to try the force follow one again and at that point it felt that no matter what shot i took i new i would make it. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

CF I think "big" applys to most balls near a corner, its so much easier to billiard them when they are there.

Yeah I guess you're right... there are many ways to hit a ball in the corner and get 3 cushions.

Forgot to say... great run, BTW! I played 3C once many years ago and I think I got a point. /ccboard/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Rod, would it be a bigger ball going like this:

START(
%Bo0I4%DD8M6%EN7Q9%Up6J8%Vs2L5%WF3M7%XM5Q2%Yr3M4%Z]1[3%[C8I6
%\E2L9%]\5Z6%^F5C6%eA5b1%bF1D5%cE2E7%dC4H6
)END

It seems more natural using the topspin, than the hard draw to go short like in your diagram.

But I could very easily be wrong. /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hi Steve,

Your way takes a little less effort but the aim is more critical IMO. Somehow that ball just doesn't look a lot bigger to me. It does look bigger than what nAz shot though. For me I feel that corner pocket from playing position that way. If the c/b hits at 1 diamond to near 1 1/2 diamonds I think it scores. A smooth low left stroke and about a 1/3 ball hit. Hey try it out if your at the room tonight. I think it's just a matter of preference.

like isaid before this is the way i would play it normally:

%Bo0I4%DD4M5%EN7Q9%Gl9C8%HI2[2%IC0Q0%JD9N5%KM8Q5%Uq1H6%Vr8G7
%Yr5F9%Zn0C4%eA1a4

I will try both you ways later tonoghjt. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Oh yeah i almost forgot i made this one too last night:

START(
%BD4U8%CE4O8%EQ6R0%GC9I8%HF5O7%IP3Q6%JP7Q9%KQ4R0%M D3S6%NC5O3
%OE5C6%PC5H8%eA6`2
)END

I had been practicing this shot a lot and i finally made it in a match. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Neat shot. I find shots similar on a pool table aren't real difficult. The last time I tried that on a billiard table it went south. /ccboard/images/graemlins/mad.gif The cloth was worn bad and it just didn't react like I expected. I need a king kong stroke to make it work on that table. My angle was similar to this, but it didn't come back after the side rail. If it would have had decent cloth (with nap) it should have worked.

START(
%BD4U8%CF1O5%Ed1Q4%GC9I8%HF5O7%Ic5Q6%Jd0Q1%Kb8Q2%M D3S6%NC5O3
%OE5C6%PC5H8%eA6`2
)END

Well who knows do you think I could have miss-hit the shot. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hi Naz
Nice run even with a scratch. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif What's your average? Also, did you ever get your Stack leather wrap? John G

Thanks G, no not yet i think i may just get a regular leather wrap this month. /ccboard/images/graemlins/frown.gif cheaper.

I not sure how to keep my average, is it based on 10 inings? do you or anyone else know where i can get a flow chart for keeping billiard averages?

A nine is no joke, even with a lucky shot. I would like to use the wei deal. How do I go about it exactly. Love to see 3C starting to pop up. I played a guy I rarely beat the other night, he's got me 24-15 going to 25. He doesn't get there. I hit him with a 5,2,2 and then we traded close shots to get out.

5-2-2, now thats cool!

three weeks ago i played this guy ($10), he goes to 17 I go to 25 we were tied 15-15 i went about 7 inings with out making a billiard then i got hot and ran 5-2-3,
/ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif he was sick lol. man i wish i could play like that all the time. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif
