Ok I have been trying to make this shot for the last 3 days and i only made it once, can someone try it out and let me know if they can do it. I think I need a better stroke!:

Naz, I think it's pretty tough to get that short after hitting point A on the third rail.

START(
%BR7X9%CM2Z1%EH1Z1%Go3D1%Hr8G4%IC4P9%JM6X9%KR0Y0%M F5X5%NB7V5
%OB9V8%Pn8C6%Qn5A8%eA0a3
)END

I can see consistently coming close, but getting short enough to score looks to me very difficult. The cueball has so much left english on it that once it hits A, it wants to go pretty long.

Do you know what your overall average is?

yeah very difficult. I atempted the shot about 15 times and only made it once the way I wanted to but I also made it this way by mistake a few times:

START(
%BR7X9%CM2Z1%EH1Z1%Gr1G7%He6C6%IC4P9%JM6X9%KR0Y0%M H5Z7%NH9Z2
%OH3Y5%Pr9H1%eA0a3
)END

I think this is the best way to go if i ever came across this shot in a game.

I do not know my over all average, i'm not sure hot to keep it. is it based on 10 inings?

Naz, what about this bank? It's a pretty big ball:

START(
%BR5X9%CM2Z1%EH1Z2%GH7X8%HC2F4%IE0C5%JN3R5%KR0X1%M K7Z7%NK2[0
%OK1Z9%PH9Y6%eA0a3
)END

A person's average is simply (# of points) / (# of innings). If you play a game where you score 10 points in 40 innings, that's a .250. If you scored 20 points in 40 innings, that's a .500. To keep your average, you simply have to keep track of your total innings - and then just divide your ending score by it.

nAz,

Is that the toughest shot you could come up with? /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif You know if I had that shot I'd just go three rails first with the c/b. Try that a few times and I'll bet you score a lot more often. Sorry about the crappy diagram. LOL

Rod, Steve thank you yes that way especialy steves way looks much easier. Im always looking for the easiest way, why didn't I see those banks shot? /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Ok maybe you guy's know how to hit this one, its a cross table shot I have major problems when it comes to these when it come to these, i think im not putting the right english on the ball ie lots of right spin or maybe low right spin.

Naz, what you just diagrammed is definitely not the right shot from that position. /ccboard/images/graemlins/wink.gif You're forcing the ball, when it's not really necessary.

I see three very high-percentage other ways to go:

1) A ton of right off the left side of the red. 3 rails to score.
2) Low right off the left side of the yellow - 5 rails.
3) Top left off the right side of the yellow - 3 or 5 rails.

Cross-table shots do come up, but I don't think this is one of them /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif.

If there are any strong billiards players on this forum, please reveal yourselves. I think you would be a wonderful resource for us all.

Naz, I just looked at your diagram again, and there is a little more angle than what I first saw. Your shot isn't as forced as I thought. It's still probably a little tougher than the more natural shots, though.

i have seen players take shots similar to the one i diagramed and make it look fairly easy, but Choice #3 is the way i would go since red is pretty big and I have no confidence in my cross bank shots.

Oh and yes where are all the CCB 3C players? are there any? Got to get Dino back here. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Naz, I never, ever, ever play 3c....but I love the game.

Anyways, on your diagram, does the red ball ever come back and hit the white ball?
