When the pros play BCA rules 8-Ball, where do they break from? Which OB do they hit first--where do they hit it--what spin do they use--where do they try to leave the CB?
Thanks,

I'm not sure. Maybe Fran will be able to shed some light. I play in two leagues and an 8 ball on the break is a win. I play in a tournament every year where an 8 ball break is not a win.

If Im not mistaken they brake like this START(
%AN7O5%BL7P8%CJ5R0%DJ5O4%EJ5M0%FL6N2%GK6N9%HL6O5%I M7P1%JK7Q5
%KJ5P7%LJ5N2%MK6M6%NM8N7%OK6P2%Pg7H9%UO7N3%Vg7H9%e C1b2
)END
at least thats what a finnish pro teached me when I had lessons with him. I use it and it works perfect.

Thanks for the information, Brent. Also, I'm glad to hear that you've had some lessons with a pro. A good pro can help you start properly and make real progress rapidly. Players who don't get good coaching early on can waste years going down dead-end roads. At least that's how it's been with me!

Although I'm not a pro, and haven't had any real legitimate lessons except for the one with Scott, my break is very similar and get pretty good results. I place the CB in the same spot, but hit the one ball head on, using just a hair below center. I try to keep the cb as close to center table as I can.
The BCA leagues I've played in, an 8 on the snap is not a win, it's spotted or a rerack is called. And you only lose the game if you make the 8 in a pocket that was not called or you scratch and make the 8 on the same shot.
